What about the rainy season Puerto Vallarta?

0

During rainy season, it does NOT rain every day, but the rainfall generally lasts for just a few hours and typically only comes around at night. Darker clouds begin to roll in during the early evening, around five o’clock, signaling potential rain storms. Then, after an hour or so on the average day, the tropical breezes blow the storm away. Because it often rains at the same time each day in the evening, locals and guests can adjust their plans accordingly to stay dry during the rainfall before returning to fun in the sun along the beautiful beaches.

The Puerto Vallarta weather heats up in the summer, which makes the water temperatures perfect for snorkeling and scuba diving. As the rainy season approaches at the end of June, the air becomes more humid, but the fresh rains breathe new life into the mountain jungles, turning leaves an emerald green.

The myths about rainy season fail to capture the radiant sunshine, the warm sea breeze, and the cool evenings that fill each day when you visit Puerto Vallarta. As it does throughout the rest of the year, during rainy season the sun is out everyday and the ocean is waiting for you to jump in and cool off after lounging on the beach. Puerto Vallarta weather during the day is warm in rainy season, but the rainfall cools the air, leaving your evenings pleasant and enjoyable for eating outdoors or strolling along the sea as the sun sets.

PUERTO VALLARTA’S TOP ATTRACTIONS THINGS TO DO https://promovisionpv.com/puerto-vallartas-top-attractions-things-to-do/

You may want to be indoors when the water hits, but you may also be tempted to dance in the rain and play in the puddles. Even if you head for the indoors, it will only be for an hour or two in the evenings before you can head back out. You can also explore the beauty of downtown or participate in one of the many Puerto Vallarta family activities outside. Then, head back to your welcoming suite to relax and clean up before enjoying a delicious dinner in the cool of the evening at one of the many fantastic Puerto Vallarta restaurants after the breeze has blown away the rain.

Maps Puerto Vallarta Areas or Your Hotel relative to the City or Ocean. https://promovisionpv.com/maps-puerto-vallarta-areas-or-your-hotel-relative-to-the-city-or-ocean/

Puerto Vallarta weather is enjoyable all year long. The Puerto Vallarta seasons each bring something special to the bay and beaches, and rainy season brings peacefully cool evenings, verdant greenery, spectacular lightning shows, and warm days. Do not listen to the myths about rainy season. See the true beauty of June through October in Puerto Vallarta when you come to visit.

When is Hurricane Season

Before hurricane season in Mexico, Puerto Vallarta begins to have almost daily rain showers between June and early October. However, these showers are predictable, falling most afternoons around 4pm, making it easy to plan your day around the Puerto Vallarta weather. These months are considered the Pacific hurricane season, but any hurricane Puerto Vallarta gets is more likely to strike in August or September.

You might hear local weather forecast predictions for hurricanes rising up the west coast of Mexico. However, the natural geography of Puerto Vallarta protects it during hurricane season in Mexico. The Sierra Madre Occidental Mountains to the south slow down storms, and since Puerto Vallarta is tucked back into the Bay of Banderas, most any hurricane Puerto Vallarta hears about passes by farther out at sea. By the time any of them do make landfall, they are typically downgraded to a tropical storm.

If you look up when is hurricane season and see that it aligns with your vacation, do not worry. You can still have a fantastic time in Puerto Vallarta. Plan your days with outdoor activities and beach time in the mornings and early afternoons. When the showers start to fall, head inside for a cooking class, spa services, or a nap in bed with a good book. If a tropical storm or hurricane is expected, the staff at your resort has an emergency plan in place to protect you and your family. Because they are familiar with this season, follow their guidelines.

Once November hits, temperatures start to drop, and many travelers find themselves needing a light jacket in the mornings and evenings in January. The cooler weather stays throughout the month of May when the local weather forecast shows rising temperatures.

Best Time to Visit Puerto Vallarta: Seize the Moment

For savvy travelers who want to enjoy the ocean and save money on a beach vacation, the rainy season is the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta. Since tourism is slower, airlines, resorts, and tour companies offer their hottest deals during the summer and fall. Plus, the warm temperatures mean you won’t get chilly while snorkeling or scuba diving. You can also stay cool with an icy margarita by the pool or in a shaded hammock under a palm tree.

Temperatures typically range from the mid-70s to the mid-90s, ensuring plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventures and relaxation and making anytime the best time to visit Puerto Vallarta.

And while stormy showers frequent nights during the summer months, there are still an amazing average of 8 hours of sunshine a day to play with. Puerto Vallarta weather is truly one of the destination’s greatest attributes.

Each nest can produce 100 eggs, and the staff claims an average of 60,000 baby turtles are released each year. One of Mexico’s most eco-friendly beach destinations, Puerto Vallarta supports the local environment with its local sea turtle protection program. The turtle release season begins in July and ends in December with the arrival of the sea turtles to the beaches of Vallarta Nayarit to incubate their eggs.

Once they hatch, the baby turtles are helped by locals and tourists to reach the ocean and protect them from predators. We encourages visitors to be part of this amazing wildlife experience. Six of the seven marine species of turtles come to the beaches of Mexico to lay their eggs, and the country has an advanced conservation and protection program. The International Scientific Community chooses Puerto Vallarta

For the first time in the history of the Society for Molecular Biology and Evolution, a Latin American destination hosts its annual meeting.

Puerto Vallarta was selected by this important international organization to be the first headquarters outside the Nordic countries. The destination stood out thanks to its natural charms and extraordinary culinary, cultural and entertainment experiences, as well as the excellent range of services that cover all their logistics, lodging, transportation, and even child care needs.

For all of the above, the Society of Molecular Biology and Evolution decided to hold its annual meeting at the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center, where from July 7 to 11 the research community will participate in conferences, symposiums and workshops that continue to promote scientific and technological progress in these fields.

Why Visit Puerto Vallarta?

Beaches and tourism in Puerto Vallarta Mexico

Puerto Vallarta is one of those places, where as soon as you arrive, you feel like you want to stay forever. This charming town, located on Bahia de Banderas on the Pacific coast, is a major beach destination in Mexico.

The spectacular landscape between the Sierra Madre Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, remarkable gastronomy, numerous activities, walkable downtown and independent neighborhoods make Puerto Vallarta a unique city.

Puerto Vallarta is an endearing city, where you can make great discoveries. This city has everything you need to keep you busy!

Location and history

On Mexico’s Pacific coast, Puerto Vallarta is a seaside resort in the Mexican state of Jalisco. The city is located in Bahia de Banderas and has become a world-famous tourist destination in Western Mexico. Puerto Vallarta was a traditional Mexican village before attracting tourists from all over the world.

This small fishing village has developed to accommodate the growing number of national and foreign tourists attracted by the charm, friendliness and beautiful beaches of the region.

It was also the large investment in infrastructure at the end of the 1960s and the film industry which allowed the development of the tourist economy.

Today, tourism is the main economic activity in the region. Despite the presence of numerous tourists, Puerto Vallarta has also managed to maintain its local life and coexist well with tourism.

When to go to Puerto Vallarta

Knowing the climate of the region is essential to properly prepare your trip to Mexico. Puerto Vallarta has a tropical climate. Like other coastal cities in Mexico, the rainy season is from June to October.

It is the low season for tourism due to the high heat and humidity. The rains are not very abundant and even on a rainy day it is possible to enjoy it.

What is Puerto Vallarta like in the Summer? https://promovisionpv.com/what-is-puerto-vallarta-like-in-the-summer/

The most favorable months are between November and May. In December, temperatures vary from 21 to 27 degrees. The heat and humidity are more intense from July to October.

Puerto Vallarta International Airport receives flights from several major companies, mainly Mexican, American and Canadian. Arriving by plane is one of the easiest ways to get to Puerto Vallarta.

Where to sleep in Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta is a small city divided into neighborhoods (zones) spread along the Bay of Banderas. In reality, it doesn’t matter which part of the city you stay in because you can get around easily.

You should choose the area you want to stay in carefully depending on the ambiance you are looking for and the budget you have.

More maps on the link above

Starting from the area closest to the airport heading south down Bahia de Banderas, these are: Marina Vallarta, Hotel Zone, Downtown, Romantic Zone and South Zone.

To help you decide where to stay in Puerto Vallarta, here I present some details on some of the most popular neighborhoods.

Marina Vallarta

The Marina Puerto Vallarta Thursday Night Market not to miss. https://promovisionpv.com/the-marina-puerto-vallarta-vallarta-thursday-night-market-not-to-miss/

Marina Vallarta Boats

Marina Vallarta is a newer neighborhood renowned for its upscale accommodations, boutiques, modern developments, luxury yachts, international cuisine restaurants and a large golf course.

The area is located right next to the airport and about 15 minutes from the center. Although the Marina isn’t within walking distance of downtown Puerto Vallarta, the area is close enough and well-connected that you won’t have to worry as much about taking a taxi to get there.

PUERTO VALLARTA’S TOP ATTRACTIONS THINGS TO DO https://promovisionpv.com/puerto-vallartas-top-attractions-things-to-do/

This area is rather popular among vacationers who come with families, given the presence of all-inclusive hotels. I found it quite pleasant to come at the end of the day and stroll along the pedestrian promenade along the water’s edge while looking at the luxury yachts.

In Marina Vallarta there is also a wide variety of international and Mexican cuisine restaurants, which is a nice change from the restaurants in the center.

Puerto Vallarta Hotel Zone

The next area is the Hotel Zone. This area is renowned mainly for its beautiful beaches and of course, as the name suggests, its numerous hotels and all-inclusives. Also, it is in this area that you can find many shopping center options, such as La Isla or Plaza Caracol.

On the seaside side are the hotels. Crossing the main road, Francisco Medina Ascencio Boulevard establishes a very local part of the city with shopping centers, big box stores, restaurants, banks and other services.

First Class Shopping & Super Markets in Puerto Vallarta, How About? https://promovisionpv.com/first-class-shopping-super-markets-in-puerto-vallarta-how-about/

Given the wide variety of hotels in the area, this area can accommodate families, couples and groups. It’s probably a gamble on first-time visitors, given the good dining options and beautiful beaches just a short drive from central Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta Hotel Zone Beach

5 of Diciembre

This district is located between the Hotel Zone and the city center. Mainly a residential area, it is possible to find accommodation within walking distance of the center. A very good option to stay in Puerto Vallarta, given the easy access to the square and the hustle and bustle of the city center.

El Centro (The city center)

Malecon Promenade in Puerto Vallarta

Between the hotel zone and the Rio Cuale, downtown Puerto Vallarta is the living, beating heart of the city. This is where a lot of the action takes place.

This neighborhood is the perfect place for long, enjoyable exploratory walks to discover the unique local features. Here you can find an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops whose style, colors and ambiance are unique in the world.

A visit to Puerto Vallarta cannot be done without a walk along the Malecon, a charming seaside promenade that gracefully traces the edges of the beach and the ocean.

Sculpture at the Malecon

Palm trees, bronze sculptures, local vendors and restaurants and shops not to mention the breathtaking views and sunsets mark the walk.

The brightly painted walls, flower-decorated terraces, and red-tiled roofs of colonial-era buildings are the architectural charm and historical legacy of Puerto Vallarta.

You will also find the Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish downtown, the most famous symbol of Puerto Vallarta. Opposite the church is the Plaza de Armas, the city’s main square.

VISITING RIO CUALE MUNICIPAL MARKET Puerto Vallarta https://promovisionpv.com/visiting-rio-cuale-municipal-market-puerto-vallarta/

Because of the Malecon, there aren’t many hotel options directly on the beach. Despite this, you’ll never be too far from the beach and you’ll be just steps away from Puerto Vallarta’s best restaurants, bars, and shops. This makes this area one of the best places to stay.

Zona Romantica (The Romantic Zone)

What is Puerto Vallarta like in the Summer?

0

The summer season in Puerto Vallarta tends to be much more low key than in the winter, and you will find the city is less busy at this time of year, which is perfect if you plan to enjoy the city at your leisure.

Singing in the rain! In Puerto Vallarta

Visiting Puerto Vallarta during the summer! How About? What? When? With? Who? Why? https://promovisionpv.com/visiting-puerto-vallarta-during-the-summer-how-about-what-when-with-who-why/

Not only is it much less crowded, but the weather is usually great. The water temperature is warm, which is a delight when you want to go out to swim, dive, or snorkel. The tropical landscape is also at its best, and the foliage turns from brown to lush green because of the rainfall.

Since the summer months are the rainy season, also known as hurricane season, there will be summer rains, however, they often happen at nighttime, which means you can enjoy hot summer days and at night, the rains cool everything down, making everything breezy.

Is swimming in the water of Puerto Vallarta beaches, safe ? https://promovisionpv.com/is-swimming-in-the-water-of-puerto-vallarta-beaches-safe/

They also bring an amazing and unexpected surprise: have you ever seen a lightning storm over the ocean? Lighting storms are a beautiful spectacle to watch from your balcony, as the lightning occurs out over the ocean and illuminates the night sky.

While the weather tends to be hot and humid during the day with an average high temperature of 90°F and rarely falling below 87°F, this can be pleasant for spending a day in the pool or in the ocean and then retreating back to the comfort of air-conditioning when you feel like taking a rest.

Even though the summer months are the hurricane season, one of the main benefits of Puerto Vallarta’s location in the middle of Banderas Bay is that the mountains lovingly wrap around the city on all sides, providing a protective shield, which makes it one of the safest destinations to visit in Mexico during hurricane season. Even if a hurricane hits, the damage is usually fairly minimal.

Summer Activities in Puerto Vallarta

When the weather starts to warm up, the ocean temperatures start to rise as well, which makes them perfect for water sports such as snorkeling and scuba diving because the higher temperatures allow the waters to be clearer, as there are no plankton blooms, which occur on the cooler months. Therefore, visibility improves greatly, which makes it the best season for exploring the rich marine life.

Summer is also sea turtle hatching season, and many hotels sponsor sea turtle protection projects that allow visitors to release baby turtles into the sea when they hatch, making this a one of a kind experience!

Other activities you might enjoy during the summer in Puerto are sunbathing and cooling off by the pool. Just remember: the sun is stronger during the summer, so you will need to use sunblock at all times, reapply constantly, and you do not want to expose yourself to UV/UVA rays between 2:00 to 4:00 pm; the highest exposure times.

June is a good time to visit Puerto Vallarta, the average temperature rests in the mid-80s °F, which is still not too hot, but warm enough to deliver amazing ocean temperatures ideal for swimming, diving, and enjoying most water activities with the best visibility which allow you to catch a glimpse of the various local species, such as giant manta rays, sea turtles, and dolphins! Also, the rainy season doesn’t typically start until the latter half of the month, so you won’t find it as humid as during the later summer months.

You need to know that July is the hottest month of the year, with temperatures that spike the most, with an average high that sits in the 90s °F. Also, there’s a higher chance of rainstorms during the evenings because July is the peak rainy season month, which will cause an increase in humidity. If none of these conditions represent an issue, then, yes, July is an amazing month to visit Puerto Vallarta!

Scuba diving in Puerto Vallarta

During July, you might find there are some fun activities such as fantastic beach and water activities with all the natural beauty that Jalisco has to offer. You can charter a fishing boat and during the month of July you can expect to catch fish like red snapper, mahi mahi, grouper, tuna, and black and blue marlin during your charter. July is one of the best months to catch tuna, since they like the warmer waters. Other fun activities you can participate in are golfing, scuba diving, and sail and snorkel tours.

You can also schedule some fun activities for rainy evenings, such as chocolate or wine tastings, chocolate-making classes, or even bar-hop in the Old Town.

As you can see, the summer months are the perfect time to visit Puerto Vallarta if you want to enjoy the sunniest season: you will find great weather with warm water to enjoy underwater activities, amazing deals, less tourists roaming around, amazing vegetation thanks to summer showers, and much more! This is why seasoned travelers prefer to visit Puerto Vallarta during the summer.
