0

Worldwide Volkswagen Day Puerto Vallarta 2025

Worldwide VW Beetle Day is held on June 22nd

In honor of World Beetle Day, June 22, Volkswagen is sharing a visual look back at the Beetle’s impact on drivers worldwide

Worldwide VW Beetle Day is held on June 22nd, celebrating one of the most sold cars! On that day, back in 1934, Adolf Hitler commissioned the Beetle to develop a car for the people, which had to be an inexpensive vehicle with low running costs and low fuel consumption.

Why are VW beetles so popular in Mexico?
Why is the VW Beetle Mexico’s car?
Volkswagen Beetle were constructed in Mexico until 1999, Mexican Pride

What is the nickname for a Volkswagen Beetle?
When the first Beetle rolled off the production line, it was simply called the Volkswagen— “the people’s car”—but its distinctive shape inspired nicknames across the globe: Beetle, Käfer, Vocho, Coccinelle, Fusca, or Maggiolino.

The Mexican mainstream fell in love with the small VW Sedan, as it’s formally known, for many reasons. “The Beetle was a quick success thanks largely to its affordability, reliability, and its mechanical simplicity,”

It is also International Volkswagen Day and we are celebrating an iconic past while taking a ride into the future. Come along as we celebrate a global icon with an unmistakable design that has brought smiles to the faces of generations–the Volkswagen Bus.

The Volkswagen Combi or Bus

The Volkswagen Type 2, better known as simply the Volkswagen Bus, is an automotive icon that continues to captivate people from around the globe. Introduced in 1950, it has become a vehicular symbol of a counterculture movement.

The original Volkswagen Bus design was specifically for commercial use. However, it would quickly adapt to a family vehicle because of its ability to transport people comfortably. Interestingly, the bus has also been used for a wide variety of other applications, including campers, ambulances, and even a mobile recording studio. In fact, the most famous and well-known association for the VW Bus may be its association with the 1960s era. This is especially true after the bus became a cultural icon for those in attendance to the Woodstock Music & Arts Festival in 1969.

The the 1960s, the VW Bus has been an inspiration for art, including paintings and photographs.
The VW Bus will forever be associated as a “hippie van” because of the impact it had while traveling to Woodstock in 1969.
The VW Bus has been popular in television and film, including That ’70s Show and Cars, the animated film by Pixar.
The VW Bus has a huge enthusiast following. In fact, the bus is often a main feature in car rallies and shows around the world.
The original VW Bus is a highly sought after vehicle for car collectors and vehicle restoration specialists. The rarity of finding an original VW Bus is becoming harder and harder.

International Day of the VW Beetle, June 22nd

On 22 June, one of the world’s most-sold cars is being commemorated.

Since 1995, millions of VW Beetle fans have celebrated the popular VW Beetle on the 22nd of June. This day was initiated by Alexander Gromow, an expert of the VW scene and cofounder of the Brazilian magazine Fusca Clube Brazil. Supported by Dr. Bernd Wiersch, Curator of the car museum Volkswagen in Wolfsburg, and Heinz Willy Lottermann, cofounder of the Bad Camberg-VW-Meeting, this day was proclaimed at the 5th International VW Meeting in Bad Camberg. This event is considered to be one of the most important meetings of VW veterans and special Beetles.

The date for the “Worldwide Day of the VW Beetle” was not randomly selected: on 22 June 1934, the contract between the Reichsverband of the Automotive Industry and Ferdinand Porsche was signed which not only obligated Porsche to develop a car for the people, but also to present a first prototype within 10 months. He promptly complied in February 1935. The foundation for the success story of the Beetle was laid …

Then check out the landmark Los Arcos, a set of Roman-style arches by the waterfront, for a perfect photo of Vallarta’s official symbol. For a break from the city life, head to Jardin Botanico Vallarta and enjoy the delightful scents of orchids and bromeliads and the refreshing waters of a boulder-filled river.

PUERTO VALLARTA’S TOP ATTRACTIONS THINGS TO DO https://promovisionpv.com/puerto-vallartas-top-attractions-things-to-do/

There is something especially scenic about a cruise to Puerto vallarta, Mexico: the rhythmic pull of the Pacific, the kaleidoscope of coastal towns, and the irresistible blend of beach, history, and flavor. Whether you are sipping mezcal under the shade of a palapa in Puerto Vallarta, snorkeling a Los Arcos, or wandering the colorful markets, your itinerary offer far more than just sun and sea.

Puerto Vallarta blends the vibe of a bucolic Mexican fishing village with a luxurious resort town. Downtown is a hub for nightlife, shopping, and some of the area’s top-rated restaurants. You’ll immediately recognize the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, a landmark literally adorned with a crown, jutting out of the Puerto Vallarta skyline. Or head to Los Arcos for a photo op of you and preserved Romanesque arches overlooking the bay. Puerto Vallarta manages to capture everything you’d want in a destination—scenic beaches, plentiful chances for eco-excursions like horseback riding in the mountains, dolphin and whale watching, or swimming and sunbathing at Playa de Los Muertos.

Romance in the Air

Visit Vallarta’s Zona Romantica, also known as Old Vallarta, famous for ancient streets dotted with beautiful, candle-lit restaurants, bars and cafes like Cafe de Artistes, all under colorful garlands hanging from colonial balconies. Cruise to Puerto Vallarta and shop the local markets, bookstores and galleries in the zone, and take a piece of romance with you.

Local Cuisine

Puerto Vallarta’s cuisine is deeply rooted in the traditions of Jalisco, the state where Vallarta is located. Try pescado embarazado, charcoal-grilled fish marinated in lemon and slathered with salsa huichol, a distinctive sauce made with cascabel chili peppers, cumin, salt and vinegar. Or fill up on birria, a traditional stew of tender, slow-cooked goat meat spiced with guajillo chiles. And don’t forget to sip some Jalisco tequila or mezcal.

Cruising remains one of the most effortless ways to sample Mexico’s cultural and geographic diversity without packing and unpacking at every stop. From family-friendly mega-ships brimming with entertainment to intimate, design-forward vessels catering to adults, the options are as varied as the destinations themselves. Puerto Vallarta offers a distinctive way to experience the country’s coastline—whether you are after a quick escape or a luxurious extended journey.

For travelers who prefer their cruises a little more intimate and culturally immersive, Holland America Line’s Nieuw Amsterdam offers a refined 11-day journey along charming ports that rim the Sea of Cortez that feels worlds away from the mega-ship scene. Departing from laid-back San Diego, this voyage unspools at a gentle pace with calls in Puerto Vallarta, Mazatlán, Cabo San Lucas, La Paz and Loretota—each destination offering a rich blend of natural beauty, local flavor, and coastal charm. With a midsize number of guests (1,432 at full capacity), the 781-foot Nieuw Amsterdam feels more like a boutique hotel, where personalized service and elegant design set the tone. Staterooms range from thoughtfully appointed Oceanviews to breezy Verandah cabins that make sunset viewing a private ritual.

Puerto Vallarta is world-renowned for its beaches. Paradisiacal stretches of golden sand and crystal-clear waters bathe the coast of Banderas Bay. Here you can enjoy the popular beaches located in the city or quieter ones.

Los Muertos Beach

Probably the most famous, most visited, and most sought-after beach in Vallarta, Los Muertos is located at the southern end of the Malecón and the Cuale River. Yelapa

Getting to Yelapa is a two-hour adventure in itself, taking a water taxi from Puerto Vallarta south to a traditional village that still maintains the essence of a small fishing town. It’s the perfect place to get lost in the jungle, wade through rivers, take a long walk through the village to a refreshing 50-meter waterfall, or go swimming, fishing, or snorkeling in its calm waters.

The Malecón

This coastal avenue is the place where you can see the most incredible sunset you’ve ever seen. Located on the shores of the Bay, it’s a must-see if you visit Vallarta. Via the Malecón, you can access the Vallarta Marina. If you want to experience the area’s exciting nightlife, the Malecón has become the main place to go, with modern and varied bars where you can enjoy sophisticated cocktails or a beer while admiring the beauty of the sea.

Los Arcos National Marine Park

Don’t miss the opportunity to go boating, snorkeling, or scuba diving through the deep tunnels, caves, colorful reefs, and arches of this incredible marine park. Located between Las Gemelas and Mismaloya beaches, this park is home to numerous marine life and birds.

Quimixto

A water taxi or tour will take you for a fun day in Quimixto, a remote beach and one of the largest fishing villages in southern Banderas Bay. Rent a horse or hike inland to find the waterfall and dive into the deep lagoon formed by the cascading water.

Back on the beach, you can enjoy a home-cooked meal at any of the seafood or Mexican restaurants.

Romantic Zone

The Romantic Zone, or Old Vallarta, is located on both banks of the Cuale River. It is a representative area of Vallarta, serving as the city’s center, where you will be enchanted by its tradition and beauty. The typical cobblestone streets and buildings with red-tiled roofs are part of Vallarta’s essence. From modern and entertaining bars and taco stands to traditional family-run inns, these are the elements that make up this area of Vallarta and will leave you amazed.

Marina Vallarta

Positioned as one of the most exclusive and elegant areas of Vallarta, the city’s Marina offers a world of its own, full of fun activities. In addition to being the departure point for every cruise ship and yacht that arrives in the city, Marina Vallarta is an area where you can experience all the modernity and sophistication of a first-class pier. Here you will find a full golf club, more than 500 boat slips, which can be rented by tourists.

Art and Culture

Puerto Vallarta offers galleries displaying all kinds of pieces, from Wixarika art and art from various parts of Mexico to contemporary art by international artists. More than 15 sculptures by some of Mexico’s most famous artists, including Ramiz Barquet, Sergio Bustamante, and Alejandro Colunga, create an impressive public art space along the Malecón. Some of the sculptures depict the lives of important historical figures, others reflect the culture and life of Puerto Vallarta, and some are the ideal setting for taking unforgettable vacation photos.

Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe

The Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe is, as its name suggests, a church dedicated to the patron saint of Mexico. It houses interesting works of art, such as the marble altar with the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe painted by the artist Ignacio Ramirez, as well as the Stations of the Cross, the communion rail, a pulpit, and the confessionals made of carved wood.

The Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe is located opposite the Plaza de Armas and the Municipal Palace. Construction began in 1918. It has a brick facade, and its central tower was built in 1950, although it finally took on its current form in 1995 when the original tower was destroyed by an earthquake. The Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe is one of the most beautiful buildings in the area.

Gastronomy

Chefs offer international cuisine or create flavors that come from a blend of traditional regional or international ingredients with cutting-edge techniques and sophisticated style and creativity. No less delicious is the food sold in places serving authentic Mexican home-style cuisine or in small shops and restaurants serving a variety of seafood and delicious dishes, located throughout the city.

Plage de Las Ánimas Puerto Vallarta

0

Las Ánimas de Quimixto, also known simply as Las Ánimas, is a 600-meter-long beach surrounded by spectacular rock formations. The soft sand, crystal-clear waters, and calm waves make it perfect for water sports such as snorkeling and diving.

Although small, its natural beauty is impressive. It is shaded by majestic tropical trees such as capomo, fig, palm, banana, and even coffee trees, which are home to various species.

Among the local fauna, you can find quail, green and black iguanas, lizards, opossums, armadillos, squirrels, and several species of butterflies. Additionally, from December to March, boaters have the chance to observe dolphins, manta rays, and even humpback whales near this beach.

What to do at Las Ánimas Beach

If you want to relax, at Las Ánimas Beach you’ll find plenty of lounge chairs and palapas waiting for you to lie down, sunbathe, and enjoy the view. Around the beach, there are a variety of seafood restaurants where you can order your favorite drink and delicious local food.

Would you prefer something more active? You can walk along the coast or take a short trip to Caballo Beach, about 400 meters north of Las Ánimas. This beach is just as beautiful and even less crowded than Las Ánimas, but the waves are stronger, so it is not recommended for water activities.

But if adrenaline is your thing, Las Ánimas Beach offers all the experiences you need. You can take a banana boat ride, go parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, or venture out to Las Ánimas Beach Adventure Park.

This ecological adventure park features zip lines and sports and entertainment courses. Each tour lasts approximately 5 hours and includes lunch. It is also located approximately 200 meters from the pier.

How to get to Las Ánimas Beach?

Due to the characteristics of the area, Las Ánimas Beach is not accessible by car or bus. Therefore, the most popular way to get there is by boat, via pangas (boats) or water taxis. These taxis can also take you to Quimixto, Majahuitas, Yelapa, or even Mayto.

If you are in Puerto Vallarta, you can take a water taxi from Los Muertos Beach to Las Ánimas, costing approximately 500 pesos for a round trip.

Or you can travel to Boca de Tomatlán via the Puerto Vallarta Manzanillo Highway 200. Once in Boca de Tomatlán, head to the boardwalk and you’ll find the pangas there.

From Boca de Tomatlán, you can also reach Las Ánimas Beach by land. There’s a moderately difficult hiking trail that winds for 3 kilometers through the mountains, overlooking the ocean.

The trip takes approximately 1.5 hours each way, but you’ll enjoy magnificent panoramic views, see the rainforest up close, and make stops at Colomitos Beach, Madagascar Beach, and Caballo Beach.
