With its Participation in Expo ARLAM Held in Monterrey
As part of its promotional strategy, Puerto Vallarta participated in Expo ARLAM 2025, considered one of the most important tourism forums in the northeast region of the country. It was held in the Grand Hall of Pavilion M in Monterrey, Nuevo León, with the attendance of 750 travel agents, operators, cruise lines, hotel chains, travel insurers, technology companies, and industry representatives.
This event, organized by the Monterrey Association of Airline Representatives (ARLAM), featured more than 200 national and international exhibitors, including from Michoacán, Chiapas, Jalisco, and even cities in Texas. Puerto Vallarta strengthened its tourism presence, highlighting the important air connection between our city and the capital of Nuevo León.
Airlines such as United, Air Canada, Copa Airlines, LATAM, and national airlines such as Aeroméxico attended.
Exhibitors, in addition to the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, included hotels such as Las Palmas by The Sea, Plaza Pelicanos Grand Beach Resort, and of course, Marina Vallarta hotels such as The Westin Resort & Spa, among others.
Expo ARLAM 2025 registered an 18% growth in its exhibition area compared to the previous year, maintaining its position as one of the main tourism forums in the northeast of the country.
It is not only an exhibition space, but a comprehensive platform that offers specialized seminars, training sessions, networking activities, one-on-one meetings between agents and exhibitors, and multiple business opportunities in a single day. Travel agents attending are updated on global trends, discover exclusive products, and develop strategic alliances that allow them to strengthen their commercial proposal for the end customer.

Puerto Vallarta Projects $17 Billion in Revenue with Vallarta Pride 2025 and Strengthens its Global LGBTQ+ Alliance
Puerto Vallarta is preparing to welcome more than 40,000 visitors during the 12th edition of Vallarta Pride, to be held from May 17 to 25, in what is consolidating as a key event for the tourism and hospitality industry in the region. With an estimated $17 billion pesos in economic revenue, the festival represents approximately 40% of the municipality’s tourism GDP, according to local figures.
The projected impact of the event lies not only in the volume of tourists—mostly from the United States and Canada, with 30% identifying as part of the LGBTQ+ community—but also in the multi-sector activation of airlines, hotels, travel agencies, DMC operators, MICE events, and gastronomic experiences.
This year, Vallarta Pride announced an agreement with the International LGBTQ+ Travel Association (IGLTA), an organization supported by UN Tourism, which connects more than 11,000 global members specializing in LGBTQ+ tourism. The agreement represents a key networking and international positioning strategy that could open new marketing channels for local tourism stakeholders.
With the motto “The future has no gender,” the 2025 edition will also serve as the opening event for global Pride Month, featuring 22 inclusion-oriented activities, including concerts, health talks, theater, runways, auctions, and the now-traditional float parade. The calendar seeks to attract both leisure markets and high-spending segments linked to lifestyle events and experiences.
Puerto Vallarta thus strengthens its position as an LGBTQ+-friendly destination in Latin America, with a tourism portfolio that ranges from luxury resorts and short-term rentals to gourmet and wellness experiences, sectors where the LGBTQ+ community historically represents a high average ticket size and brand loyalty.
The inclusion of Mexican Sign Language in all official activities—the only one of its kind in the region—and the event’s active membership in the NYC Pride circuit make it a case study in terms of accessibility, diversity, and commercial positioning for other Latin American destinations seeking to diversify their offerings.
For tourism industry stakeholders from OTAs to airports and travel marketers—Vallarta Pride is more than a cultural event: it is a strategic platform for branding, market activation, and business generation with growing regional export potential.

Puerto Vallarta, one of the most important destinations on Mexico’s Pacific coast.
Enter the jungle to cross a suspension bridge, swim with free-roaming dolphins, scuba diving, zip lining, whale watching and more.
Day 1
While the destination boasts paradise beaches that rival any other in the country, you can spend a weekend full of extreme adventures beyond the sea.
Get ready for a first activity of the day at Canopy River Park, in the Ejido El Jorullo. It is an ecotourism project conceived and implemented by a community association, launched in 2006.
They started with a zip-line tour, over time they have added other activities such as ATV rides, rappelling, rafting, and more.
The tour chosen was the Jorullo Bridge RZR, an activity lasting approximately two hours, not including transportation or food. It involves driving an RZR (all-terrain vehicle) accompanied by an expert guide through winding paths in the middle of nature. We visit viewpoints, cross hanging bridges, and even take a dip in a waterfall.
After listening carefully to our guide’s instructions and safety precautions, the experience aboard the RZR begins. Driving it turns out not to be as easy as it seems, at least until you get used to it. But it is definitely a lot of fun riding along dirt roads and sharp curves.
The first suspension bridge we cross is short, but not without its thrills. After crossing it, we make our first stop at the “Jorullo Point” glass-topped lookout point, from where you can see the Sierra Madre Occidental in all its splendor.
After admiring the landscape and taking some photos, the journey continues aboard the RZR. The guide takes us through a small artificial “waterfall” that prepares us for what’s to come. This second stop is at El Salto, a beautiful waterfall that feeds into a crystal-clear pool, where we stay for a while to swim, enjoy the cool water, and, as its name suggests, take a leap from the top.
It was time to cross Jorullo Bridge, the longest vehicular suspension bridge in the world (470 meters long and 150 meters high). You’ll need to slow down considerably, or you can come to a complete stop and get out of the RZR, allowing you to admire all the beauty around you and even below, as the Cuale River flows through there.
At the other end of the bridge, you can make one last stop at a small viewing platform with a bar. Here, the idea is to rest on the available benches or hammocks and refresh yourself with water or an ice-cold beer.
After leaving the RZRs and saying goodbye to our guide, we arrived at Canopy River Park’s restaurant, Los Coapinoles, which offers a wide variety of dishes. We recommend ordering the barbacoa, a platter with chorizo, carne asada, grilled chicken, BBQ ribs, nopalitos, onions, beans, melted cheese (made with milk from local cows), and corn and flour tortillas.
As evening fell, returned to the hotel to change and explore the boardwalk. The festive atmosphere is constant, and people enjoy the sunset while chatting, drinking tuba (a fermented palm drink), or admiring the art and sculptures scattered around.
Day 2 in Puerto Vallarta
Head to the Maritime Terminal on a tour of the length and breadth of Banderas Bay in search of humpback whales, the type of cetacean that comes to these waters to mate and give birth to their young. Sightings of this mammal begin in early December and end in late March. Although some say they can be observed as early as November and last until mid-April.
There are two types of vessels for whale watching: by boat or on a Zodiac boat, which moves at high speed.
Since this is a natural spectacle, you may see many whales with their calves, or you may see few, or even none at all. You may not be lucky, and despite the captain’s efforts to track the whales, the task was difficult but not impossible, the unexpected happened, and we spotted a mother whale with her calf,a jump included!
Day 3
The journey takes us through the Los Arcos de Mismaloya National Marine Park. The Arcos are natural structures that are home to various species of birds, crustaceans, and more, including the blue-footed booby, a species also found in the Galapagos Islands.
The area around these granite islands is protected, but water activities such as snorkeling, scuba diving, kayaking, or paddle boarding are available. It’s also possible to encounter dolphins and whales, as was our case.
One last outdoor adventure, and after a light breakfast, departure from Opequimar Marine Center. There, naturalist photographer Eduardo Lugo, one of the co-founders of Wildlife Connection, a company dedicated to ecotourism, environmental research, and conservation, is waiting for us.
We begin with a talk with Eduardo, who explains everything you need to know about dolphins, as well as the rules you must follow for both your safety and theirs. You are not allowed to touch them or seek to interact with them. Rather, the dolphins set the tone for the encounter.
The trip is by boat, and while we search for these cetaceans, Eduardo tells us that his relationship with them began with studying a particular group of dolphins that live in the bay. These dolphins became somewhat familiar with Eduardo and the group of biologists following them, allowing us to approach, cautiously, the group and swim with them.
Finding them is no easy task, nor is swimming with them. They travel at a speed greater than a person can swim to “catch” them. Eduardo is the first to get off the boat, and when he deems it safe, he instructs you to get off with him. The activity is quite educational and allows you to meet and admire these cetaceans in their habitat, accompanied by expert biologists.
