Puerto Vallarta Wine Spectator Resto Awards

0

Wine Spectator Restaurant Awards recognize restaurants that offer exceptional wine programs. The awards are given at three levels: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and Grand Award, with the Grand Award representing the highest level of recognition. These awards, established in 1981, are the only global program focused exclusively on restaurant wine service.

Puerto Vallarta

Wine Spectator awards the 2025 Award of Excellence, making it one of only two restaurants honored in Puerto Vallarta.

La Corona restaurant, located within the exclusive Villa Premiere Boutique Hotel & Romantic Getaway, has been honored with the 2025 Award of Excellence by the international magazine Wine Spectator, one of the most influential publications in the world of wine and gastronomy.

This recognition places La Corona among the restaurants with the best wine lists globally, making it one of only two establishments honored in all of Puerto Vallarta this year.

An international recognition that boosts the local gastronomic offering

The Award of Excellence recognizes restaurants whose wine selection is carefully curated, with high-quality labels, a coherent structure, and a menu offering aligned in both style and price. “A wine list is a restaurant’s printed identity, and this year’s winners reflect both deep knowledge and a genuine passion for discovery.”

Villa Premiere: Luxury, Gastronomy, and Personalized Oceanfront Service

With a prime location overlooking Camarones Beach and just steps from Puerto Vallarta’s Malecón, Villa Premiere is an adults-only boutique resort that combines understated luxury with personalized comfort. Its 80 rooms and suites feature oceanfront balconies or terraces, welcome aromatherapy, a pillow menu, and 24-hour room service.

In addition to La Corona, the hotel offers two other dining options: La Ceiba and La Perla Cantina de Costa, within an all-inclusive gourmet plan, with a premium bar and themed dinners that complement the dining experience.

A Boost for High-End Tourism

Wine Spectator’s Restaurant Awards program, founded in 1981, is the only program in the world dedicated exclusively to honoring excellence in restaurant wine service. In 2025, more than 3,800 awards were presented in three categories: Award of Excellence, Best of Award of Excellence, and Grand Award. La Corona received the Award of Excellence, a distinction reserved for restaurants with exceptional wine lists that are consistent with their culinary offerings.

This type of award reinforces Puerto Vallarta’s position as a premier culinary destination and consolidates Villa Premiere as a benchmark in the luxury segment and personalized experiences on the Mexican Pacific coast. https://www.winespectator.com/restaurants/search/q/searchLocation=Puerto%252520Vallarta

At Café des Artistes, chef Theirry Blouet’s dishes incorporate both Mexican and French techniques.

In the coastal resort city of Puerto Vallarta is chef Thierry Blouet’s colorful Café des Artistes, a Best of Award of Excellence winner since 2019. Diners can choose to eat in the warmly lit dining room or on an expansive patio adorned with palms, statues and string lights. For the menu, think French cuisine with Mexican influences, with local produce and ingredients highlighted in dishes such as roasted pork belly with various colors of cauliflower, smoked beef cheek tacos with green pipián (a pureed sauce traditionally made with leafy greens and squash seeds) and grilled octopus with chicatanas (flying ants native to Mexico). Wine director Javier Mendez oversees the 400-label wine list and an inventory of approximately 2,000 bottles. The list’s main strengths lie in Mexico and South American countries such as Uruguay and Argentina, with Malbecs from Alta Vista, Catena Zapata and Familia Zuccardi on offer.

Jalisco – Puerto Vallarta presente NYC Pride

0

Jalisco – Puerto Vallarta Present at NYC Pride

0

To the sound of mariachi music and honoring the name of Mexico, Jalisco took to the streets of New York to march for pride and diversity.

In front of more than 2.5 million attendees at the LGBT Pride march, we waved our flag to make it clear that Jalisco is a friendly destination for all tourists, that we celebrate diversity here, and that, in times of division and persecution, we are always ready to shout Viva Mexico 🇲🇽 in unison for all our Mexican brothers and sisters.

It was very inspiring to see millions of people celebrating the presence of Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta, Guadalajara, Costalegre, and our Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns), but even more so to hear them all sing along with mariachi music and loudly show their support and love for our nation.

I have always believed that tourism serves to unite nations and resolve differences; today, once again, I was able to confirm this.

Thanks to the great team at the various Jalisco tourism offices for their organization, thanks to the local media and influencers who joined us, and thanks to our ambassadors from Mexico’s LGBT community who helped us spread the message that Jalisco Is Diverse and Jalisco Is Mexico.

Historique Filmographique de Puerto Vallarta

0

Puerto Vallarta Iconic Historic Film Location

0

It has been 39 years since the filming of the movie Predator in the Mismaloya jungle.
In the last week of March 1986, more than 200 people arrived in Mismaloya to turn it into the battleground for one of cinema’s most feared aliens:
Predator
.

(More movie set location at the bottom of the page)

For three months, the heat was brutal, the rains seemed endless, and the mud reached their knees. But that did not stop the filming crew: amidst branches, rocks, and humidity, they managed to capture the savage power and brutal beauty of the Jalisco mountains.

They say they started every day before sunrise. Arnold #Schwarzenegger and the other actors trained with weights they brought from Los Angeles (yes, they brought them to the jungle), while the technicians hung lights between trees, covered in mud up to their necks. On April 25th, Arnold flew out to get married (yes, right in the middle of filming!), and production continued without him, taking the opportunity to film explosions and action scenes. On May 12th, he was back, ready to get muddy and face the Predator.

Where exactly were they?
In what we now know as Canopy El Edén, right on the banks of the Mismaloya River. That same place that, 20 years earlier, had already put #Vallarta in the spotlight with The Night of the Iguana.

Why there?
Because director John McTiernan wanted a real, pristine jungle that looked like the end of the world… and boy did he find it.

The result: over $100 million at the box office and Puerto Vallarta showing the world that its landscapes are not just for vacations… they are also worthy of legend.

Today, almost 40 years later, if you walk through that jungle, it still seems like something could jump out from between the trees at any moment… maybe not the Predator, but the memory of everything that happened there.

Predator is a 1987 American science fiction action film directed by John McTiernan and written by brothers Jim and John Thomas. Arnold Schwarzenegger stars as Dutch Schaefer, the leader of an elite paramilitary rescue team on a mission to save hostages in guerrilla-held territory in a Central American rainforest, who encounter the deadly Predator (Kevin Peter Hall), a skilled, technologically-advanced extraterrestrial who stalks and hunts them down. Carl Weathers, Elpidia Carrillo, Bill Duke, Richard Chaves, Jesse Ventura, Sonny Landham, and Shane Black are supporting co-stars.

Predator was written in 1984 with the working title of Hunter. Filming ran from March to June 1986 with creature effects devised by Stan Winston and a budget of around $15 million. 20th Century Fox released the film on June 12, 1987, in the United States, and it grossed $98 million worldwide. Initial reviews were mixed, but the film has since been considered a classic of the action and science fiction genres and one of the best films of the 1980s, and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Visual Effects.

Jalisco con destinos emblemáticos de Mexico

0

Puerto Vallarta la “ENTREGA DE DISTINTIVO TREE CITIES OF THEWORLD” https://promovisionpv.com/puerto-vallarta-la-entrega-de-distintivo-tree-cities-of-theworld/

Costalegre Conservation of Sea Turtle

0

Sanctuaries in Costalegre Sea Turtle Conservation

Mexico is considered one of the most important sanctuaries for the arrival of diverse groups of sea turtles. Each year, individuals of green, black, hawksbill, leatherback, loggerhead, and olive ridley turtles arrive at nesting beaches, feeding grounds, and specialized camps, sites that make our country a key territory for the conservation of turtles, one of the most ancient species on the planet. The Costalegre region in Jalisco is undoubtedly a benchmark in this field.

From September to December, the camps in La Gloria, in the municipality of Tomatlán, and those in Melaque and Barra de Navidad, in Cihuatlán, invite high schools and universities, biology students or related fields, and volunteers to participate in environmental protection, research, and education activities. The stay can be for a week, two weeks, or a month.

This volunteer program consists of beach patrol, caring for nesting females, collecting, planting, and caring for nests, as well as releasing hatchlings into the sea. It is an enriching experience that allows you to come into contact with nature, preserving a species considered at risk of extinction while enjoying the luminous beaches of Costalegre.

Mayto

Another site that combines the immense landscapes of Costalegre with sea turtle protection sanctuaries is the Mayto Turtle Camp, in the municipality of Cabo Corrientes. It was established in 2005 with the purpose of promoting environmental education and conservation to protect the tortoises.

At this secluded site, far from the urban hustle and bustle, you can also volunteer to monitor nests, collect eggs, and transplant them. In addition, you’ll witness the impressive wildlife that surrounds the area, populated by mammals such as deer and pumas, as well as the region’s native flora, mangroves, and a vast, 11.4 km (7 mi) pristine beach where you can camp, surf, play volleyball, or enjoy splendid evening walks to appreciate the spectacular sunsets this destination offers.

Careyes

Careyes is another benchmark in turtle conservation. Since 1983, Teopa Beach was transformed into a sanctuary that, from protecting ten nests that year, has grown to more than 2,600 nests in recent seasons. From October to December, baby turtles are released under the Environmental Education Program, aimed at the communities near the Teopa Sanctuary.

The sanctuary welcomes children and young adults from preschool to high school. However, the rest of the year, releases are made by reservation and availability of hatchlings, for the Careyes community and tourists seeking the opportunity to get up close to species such as the olive ridley, the black or brown sea turtle, the hawksbill turtle, and the leatherback turtle, which are abundant in the area.

Guadalajara to Host the 2026 World Cup!

0

World Cup fever is already brewing in Guadalajara, the capital of Jalisco, one of the venues for the 2026 World Cup. Although there are still several months to go before the ball rolls, the excitement in Jalisco is at its peak.
Where will the World Cup matches be played in Guadalajara?

The official schedule for the largest tournament in soccer history has been released: 104 matches, 48 teams, and 16 host cities in three countries: Mexico, Canada, and the United States.

In Guadalajara, the Estadio Guadalajara will host four group stage matches, including Mexico’s second match, a moment that promises to be historic for the home fans.

Jalisco and the Estadio Guadalajara have previously hosted major international events such as the U-17 World Cup in 2011 and the Pan American Games that same year. Furthermore, this isn’t the first time the Pearl of the West has hosted a World Cup: Guadalajara hosted the 1970 and 1986 World Cups.

Match Schedule at Guadalajara Stadium – 2026 World Cup

Thursday, June 11: Match 2
Thursday, June 18: Match 28 (Mexico’s second game)
Tuesday, June 23: Match 48
Friday, June 26: Match 66

Plan Your Soccer Getaway in Jalisco

Although the World Cup is still almost a year away, this is the perfect time to start planning your stay and explore Jalisco. Beyond the soccer excitement, there’s so much to discover around the Guadalajara Metropolitan Area. In less than two hours, you can escape to Pueblos Mágicos (Magical Towns) such as Tlaquepaque, Tequila, Ajijic, Cocula, Mazamitla, Tapalpa, or Sayula.

What about extending your stay to explore the Pacific coast in Puerto Vallarta? Or better yet, treat yourself to a few days of relaxation at a beachfront boutique hotel in Costalegre? In Jalisco, there are plenty of reasons to stay… even after the final whistle.

The World Cup Countdown

Visit one, or both, of the World Cup clocks in Jalisco. In the heart of Guadalajara, it’s located on Paseo Alcalde and its intersection with Avenida Hidalgo, while in Zapopan, you’ll find it on Andador 20 de Noviembre. Both clocks display the time remaining until Jalisco hosts the soccer celebration.

Guadalajara’s official poster for the 2026 World Cup

Designed by Mexican artist Mario Cortés “Cuemanche,” Guadalajara’s 2026 World Cup poster is a visual explosion that pays homage to Jalisco’s identity.

Among the most representative elements are:

Torta ahogada (Drowning sandwich)

Mariachi and charros (Charro Band)

Tequila

Iconic buildings such as the Degollado Theater, the Guadalajara Cathedral, the Expiatory Temple, and, at the center of it all, the imposing Guadalajara Stadium.

A lineup that not only ignites excitement for the 2026 World Cup, but also celebrates the culture, flavor, and spirit of Jalisco.

Ready to experience the World Cup from the Pearl of the West?

Don’t forget to stay up to date with all the news about the 2026 World Cup in Guadalajara, one of the three official venues in Mexico.

Puerto Vallarta Airport Adds Routes with Porter Airlines https://www.flyporter.com/en-ca/

Puerto Vallarta International Airport strengthens its international network with the addition of three new routes to Canada, thanks to the launch of Porter Airlines in the 2025 winter season. The Canadian airline will fly from Toronto, Ottawa, and Hamilton, consolidating Vallarta as one of the Mexican destinations with the highest passenger traffic from the North American country.

With these new connections, the airport, operated by Grupo Aeroportuario del Pacífico (GAP), will connect with 17 Canadian cities. This expansion positions it as the second airport in Mexico with the most passengers from Canada: one in three international visitors arriving at this airport is Canadian.

Puerto Vallarta Airport Strengthens Tourism Ties with Canada

The new flights will be operated by aircraft with capacity for 132 passengers and will begin in November 2025. Porter Airlines, responds to the growing demand from Canadian tourists choosing Vallarta as a vacation destination. It will also facilitate access for Mexican travelers to various cities in Canada.

Porter Airlines, headquartered in Toronto, is currently Canada’s third-largest airline, transporting more than 5.5 million passengers annually. The company has earned recognition for offering comfortable service with no middle seats and amenities such as complimentary snacks and drinks, which significantly improve the economy class experience.

The arrival of Porter Airlines marks a new milestone for the airport’s growth and international reach.

Loyal passengers know that the feeling of flying Porter can not be matched. It is intangible elements, like our caring people and generous service, that continue setting us apart. That is why people love Porter, and why they are going to enjoy flying with us to the sun.”

Porter is the only airline offering service from Ottawa to Puerto Vallarta.

And Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Minister of Tourism of the State of Jalisco, said: “We are very pleased with the growth of the Canadian market in Jalisco. This is a key moment to strengthen our ties, highlight the closeness and affinity we share, and make it clear: in Jalisco, we welcome Canadians with open arms. That is why we have been receiving more and more Canadian visitors across our destinations, from Guadalajara and Chapala to Puerto Vallarta, Costalegre, and our Pueblos Mágicos. And we will keep doing so. Thanks to the increased connectivity we have announced with several airlines linking Jalisco to more than 17 airports across Canada. Today, we proudly celebrate the arrival of these new routes with Porter, one of Canada’s most important airlines.”

Foro de Consulta Turística a Puerto Vallarta

0
