Puerto Vallarta con agentes de Estados Unidos

El destino estuvo presente en ASTA Global Conference, evento anual que reúne a asesores de viajes top de Estados Unidos.

El pasado 20 de mayo, Puerto Vallarta promovió sus encantos e infraestructura turística en ASTA Global Conference, evento de la Sociedad Americana de Asesores de Viajes (ASTA, por sus siglas en inglés) que fue llevado a cabo en Salt Lake City, Utah.

Este gran evento anual reunió a más de 1,000 agentes de viajes top del oeste estadounidense con actores clave de la industria del turismo como destinos, líneas aéreas y tour operadores, con quienes se realizaron múltiples encuentros en formato cóctel, conferencias y feria (trade show); también participaron agencias mayoristas, cadenas hoteleras, agencias de seguros, navieras (cruceros), arrendadoras de autos y otros proveedores de la industria.

El destino estuvo acompañado por los hoteles Buenaventura Grand, Hacienda Buenaventura y Villa Premiere, los cuales brindaron información de sus instalaciones y gran variedad de opciones de alojamiento.

Puerto Vallarta está conectado con 27 de las principales ciudades de Estados Unidos; particularmente, Salt Lake City tiene conectividad directa todo el año con la aerolínea Delta Airlines, que actualmente ofrece una frecuencia diaria al destino.

ASTA Global Conference forma parte de las acciones de promoción internacional en las que el Fideicomiso de Turismo de Puerto Vallarta participa anualmente. Esta constancia ha permitido generar relaciones con los asesores de viajes a lo largo de los años y fortalecer las ya existentes, contribuyendo a su posicionamiento como el mejor destino de playa en el Pacífico mexicano e incentivando que los agentes lo ofrezcan a su cartera de clientes.

La participación en este evento también favoreció la generación de nuevos contactos, a quienes se les dio a conocer el programa de capacitación en línea PV Specialist, donde los asesores pueden enriquecer sus conocimientos del destino y certificarse como especialistas del mismo.

Adicionalmente, los días 21 y 22 del presente mes, la comitiva del destino visitó diversas sucursales de las agencias de viajes AAA, Morris Colombus Travel, Expedia Cruises, Cruise Travel Masters y Christopherson, en las que se actualizó a más de 30 agentes para incentivar las ventas de cara a las próximas temporadas vacacionales.

Con estas acciones, el destino fortalece su relación con sus aliados estratégicos, actualizando a los agentes de viajes y generando vínculos para incentivar las ventas al destino a lo largo del año.

It is impossible not to notice the buzz around Versalles, a formerly sleepy residential neighborhood that has transformed into the city’s culinary darling. Think cozy bistros, gourmet bakeries, taco stops and even sushi bars.

This trend skyrocketed during the pandemic and has not slowed down. Over the past year, the housing market in Puerto Vallarta has seen a steady increase in the number of active listings.

As demand for longer stays and remote work setups surged, so too did the development of boutique condos, co-living spaces and Airbnb-ready units, especially in outlying areas. This demand has prompted a wave of infrastructure upgrades. Roads have been paved, sidewalks widened, bike lanes installed.

Puerto Vallarta’s evolution is not limited to urban neighborhoods. More travelers are trading beach loungers for adventure boots and backpacks, seeking out off-the-grid experiences in the greater Banderas Bay and Sierra Madre regions.

Yelapa, a boat-accessible fishing village with a bohemian soul. Think eco-retreats, cliffside yoga decks and no cars in sight. For those who crave even more solitude, Mayto offers raw beaches and some of the best stargazing in the state.

The municipal government participates in the Spain Tourism & TravelTech Mexico 2025 forum

With the goal of consolidating its position as a modern and smart tourist destination, the Government of Puerto Vallarta is actively participating in Spain Tourism & TravelTech Mexico 2025, an event taking place from May 19 to 22 in Mexico City and bringing together global leaders in tourism innovation, technology, and sustainability.

This international forum is organized by the Spanish Economic and Commercial Office in Mexico, in collaboration with SEGITTUR, and promotes the development of Smart Tourism Destinations (SDTs) through cooperation between companies, governments, and tourism sector stakeholders.

The Puerto Vallarta delegation is led by Councilwoman Melissa Madero Plascencia, president of the Tourism Services and Visitor Relations Commission, who was invited by the Spanish Embassy on behalf of Mayor Luis Ernesto Munguía.

During the event, the Vallarta delegation held meetings with specialized firms such as Mabrian, Sismotur, Libelium, Inmark, iUrban, OKLocated, and Inteligencia Turística, addressing topics such as data analysis, digital signage, AI-powered virtual assistants, sustainability, and tourism governance.

These partnerships seek to position Puerto Vallarta as a Latin American benchmark in smart tourism, aligned with global trends in digital transformation, inclusion, and environmental responsibility.

“Technological innovation and international collaboration are key to the future of tourism in our city,” said Councilwoman Melissa Madero, thanking Mayor Luis Munguía for his support.

Aquarium in La Isla Shopping Center with 2,000 Species

At a press conference, Mazatlán business leaders announced the imminent opening of a 2,200-square-meter aquarium in La Isla Shopping Center. The aquarium will be an attraction with an entrance fee, open to local families and tourists.

It will open in the coming months, with an exhibition of approximately 2,000 specimens of various fish and other creatures in tanks and ponds, as well as information sheets, virtual reality, and interactive areas.

The big news is that there will be a pond with 10 penguins with which visitors can interact. The owners of the future aquarium, who also managed the aquarium in Mazatlán, indicated that they have federal permits to bring the species and will be staffed by experts for their well-being.

The investment will be approximately 80 million pesos, within the facilities of La Isla Shopping Center, which will add this space to its list of attractions.

Puerto Vallarta plan Sustainable Municipality

With the firm intention of placing the environment at the center of his administration, Mayor Luis Munguía led the Ecology Council session, where the 2024-2027 work plan of the Environmental Sustainability Directorate was presented.

During the meeting, the mayor reiterated his commitment to a more sustainable, participatory, and ecologically balanced Puerto Vallarta, emphasizing that the administration will develop actions to prevent, combat, mitigate, and remedy environmental impacts in the municipality.

The plan contemplates the use of key instruments such as the Local Ecological Planning Program, which regulates land use and productive activities to safeguard natural resources. The plan will also participate in the update of the Municipal Risk Atlas and review the Ecology Regulations.

Among other actions, environmental education programs focused on children and youth will be developed, with activities such as waste separation, environmental fairs, and exhibitions. Additionally, municipal staff will be trained in sustainability issues, and an urban solid waste management plan will be implemented.

The project also includes the legal restoration of municipal ecological parks, the protection of endemic species such as the Vallarta turtle, and the certification of beaches through comprehensive evaluation standards.

These initiatives reflect the Puerto Vallarta government’s commitment to sustainable development, social cohesion, and the conservation of its natural resources.

To reaffirm its role as an economic engine for tourism, Puerto Vallarta is promoting ongoing investment in the modernization of its hotel infrastructure.

On her recent tour of the most Mexican port, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretary of Tourism of Jalisco, highlighted that the diversity of tourism options demonstrates the strength and attractiveness of the destination, reflecting the confidence of the sector.

Fridman Hirsch explained that, during the current administration, the cornerstone of the Thompson Hotel was laid and the River Park Hotel was inaugurated, reflecting a sustained trend in investment.

This is in addition to the opening of The Tryst hotel and the renovation of the Hyatt Ziva.

The Tryst opened its doors a few weeks ago in the Romantic Zone, offering 55 unique rooms and suites, within a concept focused on LGBTQ+ travelers, and also being pet-friendly.

The Hyatt Ziva hotel, originally opened in 1969 as Camino Real, made a $20 million investment to improve and modernize its 335 rooms, event halls, and general facilities, which include accessibility features to offer an inclusive experience.

Para reafirmar su papel como motor económico del turismo, en Puerto Vallarta se impulsa una inversión constante en la modernización de su infraestructura hotelera.

En su reciente gira por el puerto más mexicano, Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretaria de Turismo de Jalisco, destacó que la diversidad de opciones turísticas demuestra la solidez y atractivo del destino, lo que refleja la confianza del sector.

Fridman Hirsch explicó que, durante la actual administración, se colocó la primera piedra del Hotel Thompson y se inauguró el River Park Hotel, lo que refleja una tendencia sostenida en la inversión.

A esto se suma la apertura del hotel The Tryst y la renovación del Hyatt Ziva.

1.- La entrega del distintivo “TREE CITIES OF THE WORLD” es organizado por Reforestamos México A.C, La organización de las Naciones Unidas para la Alimentación y la Agricultura FAO y la Dirección de Sostenibilidad Ambiental. Esta entrega tiene como objetivo hacer visible a la sociedad vallartense que somos un gobierno comprometido con el cuidado de los árboles de nuestra ciudad y que gestiona enlaces con las organizaciones de la sociedad civil en su intento por llevar a cabo acciones de divulgación socioambientales con un mismo objetivo; la preservación de nuestros recursos naturales. El reconocimiento a través del programa Ciudades Árbol del Mundo representa el primer paso hacia una visión verde para esta ciudad. Para recibirlo, una ciudad debe cumplir cinco estándares fundamentales:

Establecer la responsabilidad
La ciudad cuenta con una declaración escrita de los líderes de la ciudad que delega la responsabilidad del cuidado de los árboles dentro del límite municipal a un miembro del personal, un departamento de la ciudad o un grupo de ciudadanos, llamado Junta de Árboles.

Establezca las reglas
La ciudad cuenta con una ley o política oficial que rige la gestión de bosques y árboles. Estas normas describen cómo se debe realizar el trabajo —a menudo citando las mejores prácticas o estándares del sector para el cuidado de los árboles y la seguridad de los trabajadores—, dónde y cuándo se aplican y las sanciones por incumplimiento.

Sepa lo que tiene
La ciudad tiene un inventario o evaluación actualizado del recurso arbóreo local para que se pueda establecer un plan efectivo a largo plazo para la plantación, cuidado y remoción de los árboles de la ciudad.

Asignar los recursos
La ciudad tiene un presupuesto anual dedicado a la implementación rutinaria del plan de manejo de
árboles.

That on May 24, 2025, the “TREE CITIES OF THE WORLD DISTINCTION AWARD” will be held. This event will be held within the municipality, which is why we are pleased to share the relevant information with you.

Urban forests help define a sense of place and well-being where people live, work, play, and learn. The Tree Cities of the World program is an international effort to recognize cities and towns committed to ensuring that their urban forests and trees are properly maintained, sustainably managed, and duly celebrated.

To be recognized as a Tree City, a community must meet five core standards that illustrate a commitment to caring for its trees and forest. Our goal is to connect cities around the world in a new network dedicated to sharing and adopting the most successful approaches to managing community trees and forests.

1.- The presentation of the “TREE CITIES OF THE WORLD” badge is organized by Reforestamos México A.C., the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), and the Environmental Sustainability Directorate. This presentation aims to make visible to Vallarta society that we are a government committed to caring for the trees in our city and that we establish links with civil society organizations in our efforts to carry out socio-environmental outreach activities with a common goal: the preservation of our natural resources. Recognition through the World Tree Cities program represents the first step toward a green vision for this city. To receive it, a city must meet five fundamental standards:

Standard 1:

Establish Responsibility
The city has a written statement by city leaders delegating responsibility for the care of trees within the municipal boundary to a staff member, a city department, or a group of citizens—called a Tree Board.

Standard 2:

Set the Rules
The city has in place a law or an official policy that governs the management of forests and trees. These rules describe how work must be performed—often citing best practices or industry standards for tree care and worker safety—where and when they apply, and penalties for noncompliance.

Standard 3:

Know What You Have
The city has an updated inventory or assessment of the local tree resource so that an effective long-term plan for planting, care, and removal of city trees can be established.

Standard 4:

Allocate the Resources
The city has a dedicated annual budget for the routine implementation of the tree management plan.

Standard 5:

Celebrate Achievements
The city holds an annual celebration of trees to raise awareness among residents and to acknowledge citizens and staff members who carry out the city tree programme.

Puerto Vallarta destino lider turismo LGBTIQ+

El puerto más mexicano fortalece su identidad como destino inclusivo y amigable con actividades como Vallarta Pride y un desfile que convocó a cerca de 20 mil personas.

Las celebraciones cuentan con apoyo institucional de la Secretaría de Turismo de Jalisco, el Fideicomiso de Puerto Vallarta, el Gobierno Municipal y el sector empresarial.

Aunado a la conmemoración, Vallarta Pride promueve programas de responsabilidad social, campañas de salud y eventos deportivos y culturales.

Como parte de las estrategias de promoción turística impulsadas por la Secretaría de Turismo, en coordinación con el Fideicomiso de Puerto Vallarta, el Gobierno Municipal y el sector empresarial, el puerto más mexicano continúa consolidando su posición como un referente internacional de inclusión y hospitalidad.

Como resultado de esta colaboración estratégica, el Vallarta Pride, que se lleva a cabo del 17 al 25 de mayo, logró reunir a más de 20 mil personas en su emblemático desfile del orgullo, cuya relevancia trasciende la festividad al considerarse como un motor de promoción turística y responsabilidad social.

Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Secretaria de Turismo de Jalisco, destacó que el Vallarta Pride, al ser uno de los eventos más reconocidos de su tipo, impulsa significativamente la ocupación hotelera y la derrama económica en la región.

Subrayó que esta celebración también envía un mensaje de visibilidad para la comunidad LGBTQ+, lo que consolida a Puerto Vallarta como un destino incluyente y acogedor para todas y todos sus visitantes.

Al recorrido de más de dos kilómetros se sumaron visitantes nacionales e internacionales, principalmente de Canadá y Estados Unidos.

Como parte de la celebración, el Vallarta Pride 2025 incluye en su programación más de 20 eventos a lo largo de la semana, entre campañas de salud, actividades deportivas y encuentros culturales.

Con ello, reafirma su compromiso de promover un mensaje de dignidad, resistencia y el pleno reconocimiento de derechos para la comunidad LGBTQ+.

En Puerto Vallarta, el 40 por cientos de los ingresos de la ciudad provienen del turismo LGBTQ+, y el llamado gayborhood de Puerto Vallarta integra, además de la famosa Playa Los Muertos, a más de 60 establecimientos con una oferta consolidada y especializada tales como hoteles, restaurantes, clubes nocturnos, teatros, cabarets, galerías de arte, bares, boutiques, barberías y cafeterías.
