Turismo Jalisco Barra de Navidad – Melaque. Los emblemáticos poblados de Bahía de Navidad están a menos de 70 kilómetros de Manzanillo y a poco más de 200 de Vallarta. Se trata de un destino ideal para aquellos que quieren dejar Guadalajara pero no se sienten demasiado atraídos por el turismo de masas o pretenden, en esta ocasión, un descanso más placentero.

Para quienes buscan la paz, lo pintoresco y la cercanía con la naturaleza, los poblados de Melaque y Barra de Navidad son una propuesta ganadora. Un par de comunidades tranquilas, pueblos de pescadores con una rica tradición cultural basada en viejas costumbres y una amabilidad a toda prueba, separadas por un pequeño camino de cinco kilómetros y hermanados por las aguas azules del Pacífico.

El hospedaje en estos poblados cuyas calles todavía conservan el sabor de una villa típica de pescadores y los techos de teja y palapa dejan una experiencia atesorable.
Melaque ofrece una gran variedad de alojamientos, opciones de renta de casas y pequeños hoteles con precios bastante accesibles y en las fiestas de San Patricio (el patrono del pueblo) el 17 de marzo, echan la casa por la ventana con verbenas populares, demostraciones de jaripeo montando imponentes toros y festejos religiosos.

Les villes emblématiques de Bahía de Navidad se trouvent un peu plus de 200 kilomètres de Puerto Vallarta. C’est une destination idéale pour ceux qui veulent quitter sans être trop attirés par le tourisme de masse ou qui recherchent une escapade plus relaxante.

Pour ceux qui recherchent le calme, des paysages pittoresques et la proximité de la nature, les villes de Melaque et de Barra de Navidad sont une option idéale. Qué hacer en Tehuamixtle

Toma en cuenta que el clima en esta región varía a lo largo del año. Junio y agosto son los meses con la temperatura más alta, con un promedio de 30 °C; mientras que enero es el más frío, con una temperatura del aire y del agua de 22 °C.

Experiencia culinaria

Una de las especialidades culinarias de Tehuamixtle son sus ostiones gigantes. Desde el 2024, la localidad celebra en mayo el Festival del Ostión, el cielo gastronómico donde puedes disfrutar degustaciones, muestras culinarias, música y más emblemas de la región, además del concurso del ostión más grande del mundo.

El pueblo cuenta con varios restaurantes que sirven frescos platillos de mariscos que también destacan por sus langostas deliciosas, coctelería y un amplio menú lleno de tradición.

Este es el lugar ideal para disfrutar de una comida en la playa mientras te deleitas con el paisaje y la tranquilidad natural de la marea.

Playa de Tehua

El pueblo de Tehua es un lugar bastante pequeño y rodeado de naturaleza, algunos hoteles, restaurantes y tienditas. La finalidad de visitar este lugar es desconectarte de la ciudad para conectar con la naturaleza.

Hacia el sur del pueblo, la playa ofrece el refugio perfecto para aquellos que buscan privacidad y tranquilidad. Este lugar es un verdadero paraíso para quienes desean alejarse del ajetreo y disfrutar de un entorno natural.

El litoral de playa Tehuamixtle está cubierto de arena dorada. Es muy limpio, la superficie es pura y sin mezclar. La entrada al agua es suave, el fondo cómodo y no suele haber oleaje fuerte.

Olas fuertes en Mayto

A solo unos minutos en coche de Tehuamixtle se encuentra Mayto, otro destino costero que complementa perfectamente la experiencia de visitar Tehua. Las olas son más fuertes, lo que lo convierte en un lugar popular para los surfistas.

Sus playas amplias y vírgenes también ofrecen una experiencia más dinámica y aventurera. Puedes disfrutar de paseos entre ambos pueblos, aprovechando las diferentes actividades y paisajes que cada uno ofrece.

Cómo llegar a Tehua (NO HAY TRANSPORTE PUBLICO)

Para llegar a Tehuamixtle desde Puerto Vallarta, la ruta recomendada te lleva hacia el sur, comenzando con un trayecto de aproximadamente 17 km hasta Boca de Tomatlán. Este tramo suele tomar alrededor de 30 minutos y ofrece vistas impresionantes de la costa, destacándose por su belleza natural.

Desde Boca de Tomatlán, continúa hacia El Tuito, ubicado a unos 27 km más al sur. El viaje en este tramo suele tomar entre 45 minutos y 1 hora, dependiendo de las condiciones del tráfico y la carretera. En El Tuito, puedes hacer una parada rápida para disfrutar de una comida antes de continuar.

Después de El Tuito, sigue las indicaciones hacia Mayto, que se encuentra a aproximadamente 45 kilómetros de distancia. Este tramo adicional de la ruta te llevará por paisajes montañosos y rurales característicos de la región, ofreciendo una perspectiva diferente del entorno jalisciense.

Finalmente, desde Mayto, continúa unos 8 kilómetros más hasta llegar a Tehuamixtle. Este tramo final del viaje te llevará directamente a la encantadora costa de Tehuamixtle, donde podrás disfrutar de su ambiente tranquilo y su oferta gastronómica de mariscos frescos.

The Jalisco destination continues to attract North American airlines in their expansion plans to Latin America.

Frontier Airlines announced the launch of 22 new routes that will begin operating later this year, expanding its service to the United States, Latin America, and the Caribbean. This expansion plan, which will be launched in November and December, includes a new round-trip flight from the United States to Puerto Vallarta.

The airline already flew to the destination from Dallas and Denver, and will now also operate from Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport starting December 20 of this year. Frontier’s Atlanta (ATL) – Puerto Vallarta (PVR) flight will have a weekly service on Airbus A321 aircraft with a capacity of 240 passengers, representing 960 more seats from the United States to the Mexican destination.

Que faire à Tehuamixtle ?

Tehuamixtle offre une variété d’activités pour profiter de la mer calme et de la nature. Ses eaux sont idéales pour la baignade en famille, le kayak et la plongée avec tuba. L’une des spécialités culinaires de Tehuamixtle sont ses huîtres géantes. Depuis 2024, la ville célèbre en mai le Festival de l’Huître, un véritable paradis culinaire où vous pourrez profiter de dégustations, de démonstrations culinaires, de musique et d’autres symboles régionaux, en plus du plus grand concours d’huîtres au monde.

La ville compte plusieurs restaurants servant des plats de fruits de mer frais, notamment de délicieuses langoustes, des cocktails et un menu varié et traditionnelle.

C’est l’endroit idéal pour savourer un repas sur la plage tout en profitant du paysage et de la tranquillité naturelle de la marée.

Plage de Tehua

La ville de Tehua est une petite ville entourée par la nature, avec quelques hôtels, restaurants et petites boutiques. Visiter cet endroit est idéal pour se déconnecter de la ville et se connecter avec la nature. Au sud de la ville, la plage offre un havre de paix idéal pour ceux qui recherchent intimité et tranquillité. Cet endroit est un vrai paradis pour ceux qui veulent s’éloigner de l’agitation et profiter d’un environnement naturel.

Le littoral de la plage de Tehuamixtle est recouvert de sable doré. Très propre, il présente une surface pure et non blanchie. L’entrée dans l’eau est douce, le fond est confortable et les vagues sont rares.

À quelques minutes en voiture de Tehuamixtle se trouve Mayto, une autre destination côtière qui complète parfaitement l’expérience de Tehua. Les vagues y sont plus fortes, ce qui en fait un endroit populaire pour les surfeurs.

Comment se rendre à Tehua *il n’y a pas de transport public pour Tehuamixtle)

Pour se rendre à Tehuamixtle depuis Puerto Vallarta, l’itinéraire recommandé vous mène vers le sud, en commençant par un trajet d’environ 17 km jusqu’à Boca de Tomatlán. Ce tronçon dure généralement environ 30 minutes et offre une vue imprenable sur la côte, reconnue pour sa beauté naturelle.

De Boca de Tomatlán, continuez jusqu’à El Tuito, situé à environ 27 km plus au sud. Le trajet dure généralement entre 45 minutes et une heure, selon la circulation et l’état de la route. À El Tuito, vous pourrez prendre une pause du midi avant de poursuivre.

Après El Tuito, suivez les panneaux indiquant Mayto, à environ 45 kilomètres. Cette portion supplémentaire de l’itinéraire vous fera traverser des paysages montagneux et ruraux caractéristiques de la région, offrant une perspective différente sur l’environnement de Jalisco.

Enfin, depuis Mayto, continuez environ 8 kilomètres jusqu’à Tehuamixtle. Cette dernière étape du voyage vous mènera directement sur la charmante côte de Tehuamixtle, où vous pourrez profiter de son atmosphère paisible et de sa cuisine de fruits de mer frais.

What to Do in Tehuamixtle

Tehuamixtle offers a variety of activities to enjoy the calm sea and nature. Its waters are ideal for swimming with the whole family and for kayaking and snorkeling together. Additionally, during certain seasons, you can spot dolphins, manta rays, and sea turtles, thanks to the hard work residents have put into protecting their natural resources.

Keep in mind that the climate in this region varies throughout the year. June and August are the months with the highest temperature, averaging 30°C (86°F); while January is the coldest, with air and water temperatures of 22°C (72°F).

Culinary Experience

One of Tehuamixtle’s culinary specialties is its giant oysters. Since 2024, the town has celebrated the Oyster Festival in May, a culinary heaven where you can enjoy tastings, culinary demonstrations, music, and other regional symbols, in addition to the world’s largest oyster contest.

The town has several restaurants serving fresh seafood dishes that also stand out for their delicious lobsters, cocktails, and an extensive menu steeped in tradition.

This is the ideal place to enjoy a meal on the beach while enjoying the scenery and the natural tranquility of the tide.

Tehua Beach

The town of Tehua is a fairly small town surrounded by nature, with a few hotels, restaurants, and small shops. The purpose of visiting this place is to disconnect from the city and connect with nature.

Towards the south of town, the beach offers the perfect retreat for those seeking privacy and tranquility. This place is a true paradise for those who want to get away from the hustle and bustle and enjoy a natural environment.

The coastline of Tehuamixtle Beach is covered with golden sand. It is very clean, with a pure, unbleached surface. The entry into the water is gentle, the bottom comfortable, and there are rarely strong waves.

Strong Waves at Mayto

Just a few minutes’ drive from Tehuamixtle is Mayto, another coastal destination that perfectly complements the experience of visiting Tehua. The waves are stronger, making it a popular spot for surfers.

Its wide, pristine beaches also offer a more dynamic and adventurous experience. You can enjoy walks between both towns, taking advantage of the different activities and landscapes each offers.

How to get to Tehua by Car (there is no public transport to Tehua)

To get to Tehuamixtle from Puerto Vallarta, the recommended route takes you south, starting with a drive of approximately 17 km to Boca de Tomatlán. This section typically takes around 30 minutes and offers stunning views of the coast, notable for its natural beauty.

From Boca de Tomatlán, continue to El Tuito, located approximately 27 km further south. The trip on this section typically takes between 45 minutes and an hour, depending on traffic and road conditions. In El Tuito, you can make a quick stop for a meal before continuing.

After El Tuito, follow the signs to Mayto, which is approximately 45 kilometers away, another 60 minutes. This additional section of the route will take you through mountainous and rural landscapes characteristic of the region, offering a different perspective on the Jalisco environment.

Finally, from Mayto, continue approximately 8 more kilometers until you reach Tehuamixtle. This final leg of the journey will take you directly to the charming coast of Tehuamixtle, where you can enjoy its peaceful atmosphere and fresh seafood cuisine.

Plage Las Animas au sud de Puerto Vallarta

Au sud de Puerto Vallarta, entre Boca de Tomatlán et Quimixto, se trouve un paradis tropical moins fréquenté : la plage de Las Ánimas. Cette destination est populaire auprès des visiteurs pour profiter de la mer et combiner détente, aventure et délicieuse cuisine. Découvrons-la !

Une plage pour les amoureux de la nature

Las Ánimas de Quimixto, aussi connue sous le nom de Las Ánimas, est une plage de 600 mètres de long entourée de formations rocheuses spectaculaires. Son sable doux, ses eaux cristallines et ses vagues calmes en font un endroit idéal pour les sports nautiques comme la plongée en apnée et la plongée sous-marine.

Bien que petite, sa richesse naturelle est impressionnante. Elle est ombragée par de majestueux arbres tropicaux tels que des capomos, des figuiers, des palmiers, des bananiers et même des caféiers, qui abritent diverses espèces.

Parmi la faune locale, on trouve des cailles, des iguanes verts et noirs, des lézards, des opossums, des tatous, des écureuils et plusieurs espèces de papillons. De plus, de décembre à mars, les plaisanciers ont la possibilité d’observer des dauphins, des raies manta et même des baleines à bosse près de cette plage.

Que faire à Las Ánimas Beach ?

Envie de vous détendre ? À Las Ánimas Beach, de nombreuses chaises longues et palapas vous attendent pour bronzer et profiter de la vue. Autour de la plage, vous trouverez une variété de restaurants de fruits de mer où vous pourrez savourer votre boisson préférée et de délicieux plats locaux.

Envie d’une activité plus active ? Vous pouvez vous promener le long de la côte ou faire une petite excursion jusqu’à la plage de Caballo, à environ 400 mètres au nord de Las Ánimas. Cette plage est tout aussi belle et encore moins fréquentée que Las Ánimas, mais les vagues y sont plus fortes ; elle est donc déconseillée aux sports nautiques.

Si vous aimez l’adrénaline, Las Ánimas Beach vous offre toutes les expériences dont vous avez besoin. Vous pouvez faire une promenade en bateau banane, du parachute ascensionnel, de la plongée sous-marine, de la plongée avec tuba ou vous aventurer au parc d’aventure de la plage de Las Ánimas.

Ce parc d’aventure écologique propose des tyroliennes et des parcours sportifs et ludiques. Chaque excursion dure environ 5 heures et comprend le déjeuner. Il est situé à environ 200 mètres de la jetée.

Comment se rendre à la plage de Las Ánimas ?
En raison des caractéristiques de la région, la plage de Las Ánimas n’est accessible ni en voiture ni en bus. Le moyen le plus courant pour s’y rendre est donc le bateau, les pangas (bateaux) ou les bateaux-taxis. Ces derniers peuvent également vous emmener à Quimixto, Majahuitas, Yelapa.

Si vous êtes à Puerto Vallarta, vous pouvez prendre un bateau-taxi de la plage de Los Muertos à Las Ánimas, pour environ 550 pesos l’aller-retour.

Vous pouvez également vous rendre à Boca de Tomatlán par l’autoroute 200 reliant Puerto Vallarta à Manzanillo. Une fois à Boca de Tomatlán, dirigez-vous vers la promenade où vous trouverez les pangas.

De Boca de Tomatlán, vous pouvez également vous rendre à la plage de Las Ánimas par voie terrestre. Un sentier de randonnée de difficulté moyenne serpente sur 3 kilomètres à travers les montagnes, surplombant l’océan.

Le trajet dure environ 1h30 aller-retour, mais vous profiterez de magnifiques vues panoramiques, d’une vue rapprochée sur la forêt tropicale et de arrêts aux plages de Colomitos, Madagascar et Caballo.

Las Animas Beach. South of Puerto Vallarta, between Boca de Tomatlán and Quimixto, lies a less-crowded tropical paradise: Las Ánimas Beach. This destination is a favorite among visitors for enjoying the sea, combining relaxation, adventure, and delicious cuisine all in one place. Let’s discover it!

A beach for nature lovers

Las Ánimas de Quimixto, also known simply as Las Ánimas, is a 600-meter-long beach surrounded by spectacular rock formations. The soft sand, crystal-clear waters, and calm waves make it perfect for water sports such as snorkeling and diving.

Although small, its natural wealth is impressive. It is shaded by majestic tropical trees such as capomo, fig, palm, banana, and even coffee trees, which are home to various species.

Among the local fauna, you can find quail, green and black iguanas, lizards, opossums, armadillos, squirrels, and several species of butterflies. Additionally, from December to March, boaters have the chance to observe dolphins, manta rays, and even humpback whales near this beach.

What to do at Las Ánimas Beach

If you want to relax, at Las Ánimas Beach you’ll find plenty of lounge chairs and palapas waiting for you to lie down, sunbathe, and enjoy the view. Around the beach, there are a variety of seafood restaurants where you can order your favorite drink and delicious local food.

Would you prefer something more active? You can walk along the coast or take a short trip to Caballo Beach, about 400 meters north of Las Ánimas. This beach is equally beautiful and even less crowded than Las Ánimas, but the waves are stronger, so it’s not recommended for water activities.

But if adrenaline is your thing, Las Ánimas Beach offers all the experiences you need. You can take a banana boat ride, go parasailing, scuba diving, snorkeling, or venture out to Las Ánimas Beach Adventure Park.

How to get to Las Ánimas Beach?
Due to the characteristics of the area, Las Ánimas Beach is not accessible by car or bus. Therefore, the most popular way to get there is by boat, via pangas (boats) or water taxis. These taxis can also take you to Quimixto, Majahuitas, Yelapa, or even Mayto.

If you are in Puerto Vallarta, you can take a water taxi from Los Muertos Beach to Las Ánimas, costing approximately 550 pesos for a round trip.

Or you can travel to Boca de Tomatlán via the Puerto Vallarta-Manzanillo Highway 200. Once in Boca de Tomatlán, head to the boardwalk and you’ll find the pangas there.

From Boca de Tomatlán, you can also reach Las Ánimas Beach by land. There is a moderately difficult hiking trail that winds for 3 kilometers through the mountains, facing the ocean.

The trip takes approximately 1.5 hours each way, but you will enjoy magnificent panoramic views, see the rainforest up close, and make stops at Colomitos Beach, Madagascar Beach, and Caballo Beach.
