Lázaro Cárdenas Park is using colorful tiles that will transform it into an open-air gallery with functional spaces.
Puerto Vallarta Mosaic Park The Most Colorful Space
This colorful project, called Mosayko Vallarta, is led by artist Natasha Moraga, who has already brought color to other iconic areas of our destination, such as the Puerto Vallarta sign, the murals at the Marina, and the benches along the Malecón. This is open to the entire community, people sponsored it by purchasing personalized tile plaques.

The different plaques can be celebratory, memorial, personalized with names, for businesses, for pets, and even a bench for family or friends.
Adorning Lázaro Cárdenas Park with color, a group of artists carrying out the “Parque de los Azulejos”. The original idea comes from artist Natasha Moraga, a 37-year-old woman who holds both Mexican and American citizenship.
Always drawn to the arts, as a child she experimented with music and painting, but without finding her true calling.
Natasha knew she had found her form of expression. Rather raw in essence, mosaic art is about breaking, carrying, using cement… Even so, upon returning to Puerto Vallarta, she didn’t know exactly how or where to apply her art. It wasn’t until two years later, walking through Puerto Vallarta’s Romantic Zone, that she knew.
Lázaro Cárdenas Park Transforms into the Park of Tiles
“The Mosaic Park,” is not an improvised project. It is full of symbolism! It incorporates sacred geometry: each corner of the park has a balance between yin and yang, black and white, masculine and feminine. The pillars of the kiosk represent the four directions of our pre-Hispanic cosmogony. North is dedicated to water, south to fire, east to earth, and west to air.
The park has 66 benches, each with a different design and concept. The areas between the benches feature a transition of colors that connects them to one another. At either end of the park are two hummingbirds, one white and one black, representing inner and outer freedom. All the concrete modeling work is by sculptor Oscar Ricardo.
The work on the benches is sponsored by private benefactors and some businesses near Lázaro Cárdenas Park. Most of the donations come from Puerto Vallarta residents who want to see their city beautified. On each bench, you will find a plaque with the name of its sponsor.
The park is also host to the Saturday Market from November to April
