From March 4 to 6, Puerto Vallarta was present at the Internationale Tourismus-Börse (ITB) in Berlin, the largest trade event focused on tourism in the world, which brings together representatives of the international market and important companies such as Expedia Group and Amadeus.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust was part of the delegation that represented the State of Jalisco, headed by Michelle Fridman Hirsch, Ministry of Tourism, under whose leadership it participated in business meetings, networking and public relations activities.

ITB Berlin is one of the most important tourism fairs in the world. Since its foundation in 1966, it brings together the main tourism professionals, offering a platform to discover the latest trends in the sector, generate business links and strengthen valuable contacts.

The major tourism fair in the German capital was attended by 5,800 exhibitors from more than 170 countries, who interacted with approximately 100,000 attendees from 190 countries over three days.

The meeting was a valuable opportunity for Puerto Vallarta to present its differentiated tourism products and services for various market segments, including adventure tourism, business travel, luxury travel, medical tourism, LGBTQ+, romance and golf.

The destination held meetings with airlines such as Discover, World2Fly, Iberojet, Grupo Lufthansa, among others; wholesalers such as Avoris, World2Meet and Last Minute, as well as German, Austrian and Czech operators in order to generate commercial agreements. Likewise, meetings were held with CONEXSTUR allies to promote circuit travel in the State and with specialized media.

Along with Jalisco, Puerto Vallarta stood out for its solid infrastructure and extensive air, land and sea connectivity, as well as for its great cultural and gastronomic offering, the latter shared at the event by the talented Vallarta chef Salvador Carrillo.

The 2025 edition, held at Messe Berlin, represented a key opportunity to strengthen the destination’s presence in the international market, establish new alliances and explore emerging markets.

Within the framework of the event, the delegation of the Ministry of Tourism announced that Jalisco will host ITB Americas – the American edition of this important fair – for at least five years, to be held for the first time in the state capital.

This event will be the key meeting point for the tourism industry in North America, Central America, South America and the Caribbean, with the participation of the main players in the sector, allies and strategic buyers. Its arrival in the region reinforces the international projection of Puerto Vallarta and its role as a leading destination for tourism and the meetings industry.

Participation in events such as ITB Berlin reflects the commitment of the State Tourism Secretariat and the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust to promote inbound tourism – a key sector for Jalisco’s economy – and to generate a positive impact at a social level, benefiting both the direct stakeholders of the tourism industry and local communities, promoting equitable and sustainable development in the entity.
