San Francisco, Nayarit. Although it has grown quite a lot, known as San Pancho Nayarit is still preserving its quaint vibe of a small community town.

San Pancho is located on Mexico’s Pacific coast in the state of Nayarit. This section of the coastline is also known as the Riviera Nayarit. San Pancho is a tiny village just 45 kilometers north of Puerto Vallarta.

Travelers searching for something new are starting to look further north for something different.

The region was originally named San Francisco by the Spanish conquistadors after St. Francis de Assisi. In Spanish, “Pancho” is the nickname for “Francisco” and thus “San Pancho” is the nickname for San Francisco. San Pancho, Nayarit is one of the crowning jewels of the Riviera Nayarit. Its exports have increased 300%. Since 2011 it has gained a greater boom in its commercialization.
