Puerto Vallarta

Puerto Vallarta first gained fame in the 1960s, when it served as the setting for the classic film, Night of the Iguana, starring Richard Burton. Since then this once quiet fishing village has grown exponentially into the world-class and world-famous vacation destination, attracting travelers from around the world, as well as a large contingent of retirees and other expats. The very popular Zona Romantica, also known as Old Town. It is a pedestrian friendly zone of narrow streets and historic buildings mixed in with modern construction. You can find shops, bakeries, cafes, restaurants, condo buildings, and beach clubs.

Seventy years ago Puerto Vallarta was a sleepy seaside village on Mexico’s central Pacific coast. Then in the 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s Hollywood and the international jet-set, and then mainstream tourists, discovered its charms and it grew into one of the world’s best-loved beach destinations.

Madonnari International Fest Puerto Vallarta

0

Announced the 16th edition of the Madonnari International Festival Puerto Vallarta 2024, which will take place on February 9, 10 and 11 at the Plaza de Armas.

2022 Version

The Madonnari Festival is a three-day annual cultural event, where elaborate chalk paintings are displayed. These works are created by artists of all ages directly on the sidewalks of downtown Puerto Vallarta.

The participation of more than 100 people is expected, who will freely express their work in the main square of Puerto Vallarta, as well as in the side corridors of the Municipal Palace.

The Madonnari Puerto Vallarta Festival supported by the H. Ayuntamiento.

The first ‘I Madonnari’ Festival took place in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico in 2005, with chalk artists from around the world drawing amazing renditions directly on downtown streets and sidewalks. Now in its eleventh year, this traditional and colorful fiesta of ephemeral art on pavement will transform the walk ways in PV’s Plaza Principal into beautiful works of art.

History:

The I Madonnari Street Painting Festival is the first festival of its kind in the Western Hemisphere. It was created in 1987 by Kathy Koury, the former executive director of the Children’s Creative Project, as a fundraising event to benefit the arts education programs. Now there are more than 100 similar street painting festivals throughout the U.S., Canada, Central and South America.

Ms. Koury traveled to Italy in 1986, to visit the International Street Painting Competition in the small town of Grazie di Curtatone in northern Italy near Mantova. This first international event produced by the Centro Italiano Madonnari since 1972, takes place annually in mid-August.

Street painting probably began in Italy during the 16th century and has a long tradition in cities in Western Europe. Artists began street painting by traveling to Catholic religious and folk festivals where they drew images of the Madonna using chalk on the street. These artists became known as “Madonnari” or street painters. Their images are called street paintings because when well drawn they resemble paintings. These artists lived and still live from the viewers’ coins thrown onto the street paintings in appreciation for the work.

Visit Riviera Nayarit on your next vacation

0

Visit the Riviera Nayarit on your next vacation to Puerto Vallarta.

Between the Mountains of the Sierra Madre Occidental and the Mexican Pacific Coast, in one of the smallest and least populated states in the country, there is a place that houses exceptional natural and cultural wealth: the state of Nayarit.

What is the Riviera Nayarit, Nayarit, Mexico. + Videos https://promovisionpv.com/what-is-the-riviera-nayarit-nayarit-mexico-videos/

An ideal landscape to escape from mass tourism, connect with nature, engage in extreme sports, or discover authentic pre-Hispanic culture. These are the five reasons why you should visit Nayarit on your next vacation to Mexico.
Paradisiacal Beaches

In Mexico, there is more than just the beaches of the Caribbean. In the Riviera Nayarit, you can discover unforgettable places like San Blas, with its nearly pristine beaches, Sayulita and San Pancho, perfect for surfing, or Punta Mita, for those who prefer luxury.

Don’t miss visiting Playa Novillero, which, with its more than 80 kilometers, is the longest in Mexico—the second longest in Latin America, after Praia Do Cassino in Brazil. Its golden sands and calm waves make it the ideal place for a family getaway. Another essential getaway is Playa Escondida or Playa del Amor, in the Marietas Islands National Park, less than 10 kilometers southwest of Punta Mita.

Punta de Mita is an Exclusive and Luxury Combination https://promovisionpv.com/punta-de-mita-is-an-exclusive-and-luxury-combination/

It is a small hidden white sand cove nestled in the heart of a rocky formation, only accessible by swimming.

Magical Towns

Nayarit is one of the Mexican states with the highest number of Magical Towns. This year, five destinations obtained this designation, with which the Mexican government recognizes their ability to preserve their original traditions, history, culture, and architecture over time. San Blas stands out for its beaches, mangroves, and its iconic pier. Ahuacatlán is known for its colonial architecture. Amatlán de Cañas is famous for its cobbled streets, adobe houses, and red roofs, as well as its thermal spring water sources.

Nayarit has 5 new Magical Towns https://promovisionpv.com/nayarit-has-5-new-magical-towns/

In Ixtlán del Río, you can visit one of the most important archaeological sites in the region, Los Toriles, and the hill of Cristo Rey, where believers gather during the last week of October. In Puerto Balleto, you can stay in the old prisoner accommodations, which have been renovated and adapted, as it is located on an island that was once Mexico’s most famous prison, Isla de María Madre, in the Marías Islands Biosphere Reserve. These unforgettable sites join the four Magical Towns that the state already had: Compostela, Jala, Mexcaltitlán, and Sayulita.

An Unforgettable Adventure

The warm waters of Puerto de San Blas are home to the whale shark, known as the domino fish due to its gray skin with white lines and dots. It’s the largest fish in the world, and despite its size (it can measure up to 18 meters long and weigh up to 34 tons), it is harmless (it doesn’t feed on meat but rather on plankton). Would you dare to swim near one?

Enjoy this experience with the highest safety standards provided by authorized providers who follow regulations to minimize the impact on the species. You can also admire the humpback whale, which in the winter months (from mid-December to late March) migrates to the Mexican Pacific Coast to mate and reproduce. Or, if you prefer, you can release sea turtles, as Nayarit is a nesting site for four species. Its great biodiversity makes the state home to endemic birds.

Take a boat to the Isla Isabel National Park, where you can spot blue-footed boobies or pelicans. The Nayarit jungle is home to jaguars, but they are more difficult to spot.
Abundant Natural Offerings

Although not everything in Nayarit is about the beach. If you’re into mountains, don’t miss the mystical Sierra del Nayar, where important indigenous groups inhabit the region: Wirrárikas (or Huicholes), Mexicaneros, and Coras.

There are also important reservoirs and lagoons inland, such as Laguna de Agua Brava, Laguna de Mexcaltitlán (where the island of the same name is located), and Estero de Cuautla. Mexcaltitlán, a small, colorful, and tranquil fishing village, is considered the ancient city of Aztlán.

Known as the Mexican Venice due to the canals that form within the island during the rainy season. These canals are navigated by rafts by the locals.

All About Riviera Nayarit https://promovisionpv.com/riviera-nayarit/

In Nayarit, you’ll find a wide variety of fresh seafood products. Savor typical dishes like pescado zarandeado, a delicacy prepared with various sauces and smoked over wood, or Tlaxtihuilli, a recipe based on shrimp, chilies, and corn atole.

Don’t miss trying the famous ceviche and fish chicharrón, seafood molcajete, Nayarit tamales, or tatemada birria.

Lo de Marcos is a very small but charming town https://promovisionpv.com/lo-de-marcos-is-a-very-small-but-charming-town/

Don’t wait any longer; pack your bags and take a step beyond, to Nayarit, on the Mexican Pacific Coast, with unique sites and much to discover.

National Geographic recognizes Nayarit as a new favorite destination
The prestigious National Geographic magazine in Spanish recognized Nayarit as the must-see destination for adventurers. The recent publication also mentions activities in ecotourism, art, culture, gastronomy, history, Magical Towns and beaches.

“There are many reasons for you to make Nayarit your new favorite destination and live there the best adventures of your life, and not just once, since you will surely come back many times over to complete the different experiences that we offer” says the special report.

In addition to this, Nat Geo‘s Travelers magazine‘s December edition is dedicated to Nayarit as a destination that has it all. What are you waiting for? Come visit!

Ecotourism, art, culture, gastronomy, history, Magical Towns and beaches: Nayarit does have it all to choose your favorite activities and interests and no day is the same as another.

Located in western Mexico, Nayarit is one of the Mexican entities with the greatest presence among national and foreign travelers, and it is no wonder: its privileged location facing the Pacific and its very pleasant 25 ºC average annual temperature are one of the first characteristics They also attract the attention of tourists, athletes, professional gluttons or researchers, since the flora and fauna present in the state represent a unique opportunity to obtain knowledge in different scientific branches. However, there are more reasons for you to make Nayarit your new favorite destination and live there the best adventures of your life, not just one occasion, since you will surely return many more times to complete the different experiences that we propose below.

Visiting Rincón de Guayabitos https://promovisionpv.com/visiting-rincon-de-guayabitos/

Regarding its sports offer, Nayarit’s main attractions are related to aquatic activities, the best known being surfing, which you can practice (depending on your level of experience) in San Blas, Platanitos or Sayulita. The season runs from April to November, but keep in mind that Nayarit has some of the biggest waves in the entire world, so sometimes a certain prior level on the board is required: maximum adrenaline!

Bucerias Beach Nayarit Mexico – Traditional Mexican Town https://promovisionpv.com/bucerias-beach-nayarit-mexico-traditional-mexican-town/

Excursions on foot, horseback, bicycle or a mixture of these means are also a must that you should consider for your visit. If you opt for this activity, it is very important that you carry insect repellent, sunscreen and drinking water at all times; and you can take tours in the Sierra de Vallejo Biosphere Reserve, the Los Arcos National Park, Mirador del Toro and Cerro del Mono, among others. And, of course, the beach activity par excellence, swimming, occupies the position of honor in any of the twenty natural locations, in addition to the swimming pools that you find in practically all the hotels in the region.

Nayarit represents an unmissable opportunity to carry out ecotourism, scientific and learning activities (whether academic or for the mere pleasure of discovering natural wonders). Among these, the most requested are the sightings of gray and humpback whales every winter (adding up to 10 thousand specimens between both species), which travel to Nayarit to mate, as well as to have their previous calves and show them “the world.” Consider that boats can only stay a maximum of 30 minutes near the whales before having to leave so as not to disturb these gentle giants.

Nayarit is also a crucial reserve for different sea turtles that come to its beaches to lay their eggs between July and October. As soon as possible, the preservation camps collect the eggs to prevent them from being stolen and then, to take maximum care of these animals and raise awareness among visitors, from September to November release processes of up to 1.3 million hatchlings are organized between all the Nayarit camps, where four protected species of sea turtles are mainly born: olive ridley, green, leatherback and hawksbill.

Another activity that is receiving more and more attention is visiting a waterfall (or several) to practice rappelling, swimming and photography: we suggest the waterfalls of La Luna, El Cora, Real de Acuitapilco, Salto de Jumatán or El Chorrillo. They all have a particular charm, so we even suggest you get to know them all.
nayarit-activities

Culture is abundant and highly valued by the proud local indigenous groups, who show and share – and show off – (why not?) their history, traditions and style whenever they can. In the Sierra Madre Occidental four ethnic groups stand out: the southern Tepehuanes, the Wixaritari, the Coras or Nayeeri and the Mexicaneros, who are of Nahuatl origin. The Wixaritari (plural of Wixárika) wear a huerruri, the typical costume embroidered in cross stitch with cotton and weave figures of thread or yarn with ideograms to be in contact with divinity and the elements of nature. The fabrics made with wood are called nierikas and represent the knowledge acquired; By giving a nierika, they share their wisdom.

In Wixárika art, sculptures must be carved exclusively with copal wood; Then, the figure is varnished with beeswax and the colored beads are placed on top, one by one, but the characteristic aroma of copal is preserved.

Once you reach this point, there is no turning back: Nayarit is a paradise of good food. Yes, fish and seafood are of the day, but we will lack space for everything that you can taste not only in the traditional markets

Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Puerto Vallarta

How to Celebrate Valentine’s Day in Puerto Vallarta

Give it a listen, I’m sure you’ll enjoy it! My Favorite Color is You ♥ – Ruben Perez Ft Dave Shaman

In Mexico, Valentine’s Day is called ‘El Día del Amor y la Amistad’ (The Day of Love and Friendship). One of the noted differences between the commercially celebrated Valentine’s Day in Western culture and the Mexican culture is that in Mexico it is also a day to show appreciation and love for friends and family. Mexicans celebrate love and friendship with the exchanging of gifts, cards and traditional Mexican sweets.

The perfect weather, flowers blooming everywhere and the feeling that love is in the air. No doubt February has come into effect, and since you will be visiting Puerto Vallarta during this month to celebrate Valentine’s Day, leave your chocolates at home because these plans will certainly surprise your couple big time.

Whichever way you decide to spend the day of love with your special someone, you will be captivated by the rich romanticism Puerto Vallarta has to offer.

Romance fills the air on Valentine’s Day in Puerto Vallarta. Golden sunsets over the Pacific Ocean, private candlelight dinners on the beach, strolls down the narrow cobblestone streets of downtown or taking in shows performed by local talent; whatever your preference, you will experience romance in paradise.

Romance in Puerto Vallarta For A Lovely Valentine’s Day

Beach picnic

Or how about surprising that special someone with a picnic on the beach? An unique occation a romantic experiences; from an intimate dinner for 2 to anniversaries, engagement parties. Some hotels or resorts offer services like: a private chef, a professional photographer, a saxophone player, and even a live mariachi band.

You just need to pick a spot at the beach and the perfect time (which during this month is around 7 p.m.) to enjoy front-row seats to the stunning sunsets in Puerto Vallarta, whilst savoring the treats you picked to pamper your loved one.

If you desire an intimate setting with just your sweetheart, indulge in a private dinner on the beach. You can share an evening gazing into each other eyes listening to the soft swoosh of the waves crashing on the shore.

Also referred to as Old Town. This area is a hub of activity and Mexican cultural flavor. Filled with countless restaurants, shops, and beaches, there is something for everyone. You will surely find that perfect souvenir while browsing around countless artisan and high-end shops. When you are ready for a snack, you will find an assortment of restaurants including Mexican, International, Chinese, Italian, Austrian, and more. End the evening at the Los Muertos Pier. It encompasses a large pedestrian area with seating and an opportunity to enjoy the beautiful views of the city.

Spend the afternoon enjoying a luxurious couples massage. You will feel relaxed and rejuvenated like never before.

Sunset Cruise

See whales breach and dolphins play as you cuddle up with your love and watch the sunset over the deep blue sea. The rich hues of red blended with oranges, purples, and crimsons as the sun sinks in a flash of green behind the horizon, will take your breath away.

Enjoy some of the local talent. Witness the famous “Rhythms of the Night” created by the co-founder of Cirque du Soleil. Enjoy a beautiful sunset cruise on your way to watching a live show in an open-air amphitheater in the heart of the jungle. Enjoy an all you can eat buffet and toast to your love in a magnificent setting under a starlit sky.

Or you can experience an alternative popular dinner show aboard the Marigalante Pirate Ship complete with sword fighting, dancing, fireworks, an open bar, and dinner!

Love is in the air and a lot of you love birds might be planning to woo your soulmates by giving them gifts and probably searching for gift ideas for him/her. This Valentine’s, gift your loved ones an event experience at romantic places they would cherish the whole year. Many other events are happening in Puerto Vallarta during the valentine’s week.

Mexicans are not only buying gifts and tokens of love for their partner, but for friends and family as well. Children in Mexican schools often have contests to compose small poems to attach to balloons.

Puerto Vallarta’s weather is always very pleasant in February. At sunset, take the opportunity to stroll through the peaceful cobblestone streets of the Historic Downtown. In the alleys that lead to the upper part of the city, you will find more than one charming façade adorned with bougainvillea or an Instagrammable corner.

Comment se rendre au Jardin Botanique de Puerto Vallarta !

0

Bonjour!

Offer grows for the LGTBQ+ community in Puerto Vallarta https://promovisionpv.com/offer-grows-for-the-lgtbq-community-in-puerto-vallarta/

Lectura.
La expresión de intención.
La afirmación de familiares y amigos.
El intercambio de votos.
El dar y recibir anillos.
Afirmación del matrimonio.
Declaración de matrimonio.
