The broadcast potentially reached 56 million television homes in key markets in California, United States.

Once again, the natural, gastronomic and cultural attractions of Puerto Vallarta attracted the attention of a major United States television network. This time it was CBS, which chose the destination to film an episode of Wine Oh!, a fun and informative program focused on wine culture, hosted by television presenter Monique Soltani.

Monique Soltani https://www.youtube.com/@WineOhtv

Monique regularly travels to wine regions around the world, but on this occasion she visited Puerto Vallarta to introduce her audience to the great cultural, culinary and activity offerings that this renowned Mexican beach destination has.

Wine Oh! airs on KPYX (San Francisco), KCAL (Los Angeles), KCBS (Los Angeles) and KOVR (Sacramento), potentially reaching 56 million homes in said California cities that are connected to Puerto Vallarta through direct flights – including Sacramento, from where Alaska Airlines will begin flying next winter season -, in addition to having a YouTube channel for those who do not have the opportunity to see it live.

Monique introduced the episode with the following voice-over: “This little piece of paradise facing the Pacific began as a fishing village. Today, Puerto Vallarta is a world-class destination known for its culture, gastronomy and, of course, its very fun night scene.”

The host went beyond her typical vineyard coverage and this time she visited a raicilla distillery, a traditional drink from the coast of Jalisco. In it, she learned the traditional process of a family that has been producing this unique liquor for several generations.

The episode in Puerto Vallarta also details the time Monique Soltani spent enjoying the destination and living with community members to learn more about the destination’s culture, cuisine, and biodiversity.

Finally, the presenter mentioned the humpback whale season, which visits the bay every year from November to April to give birth to their babies, offering a unique and wonderful show in Puerto Vallarta.

In addition to the most emblematic tourist areas such as the center, her Malecón – where she was received with a mariachi – and the Romantic Zone, throughout the episode important commercial partners of the destination appeared, such as the luxurious Casa Velas hotel; a gastronomic tour with Vallarta Food Tours, in which she was able to enjoy the traditional cuisine of La Tía Ñaña, tacos at El Carboncito and a typical dessert at Churros de Julio; she crossed the impressive Canopy River vehicular suspension bridge; she was taken to Los Arcos de Mismaloya by México Real Tours; She tasted the raicilla from Hacienda el Divisadero and delighted in the delicacies from the Mar y Vino and Café des Artistes restaurants.

CBS viewers also got the scoop on Puerto Vallarta’s new Pacific & Wild advertising campaign, which promotes both sides of the destination: the absolute relaxation and extreme adventures that can be found in this multifaceted Mexican Pacific port.

Les nouvelles lettres Malecon Puerto Vallarta

0

The New Letters on the Malecon Puerto Vallarta

0

Puerto Vallarta has long been known for its stunning sunsets, culture, and rich artistic heritage. The city’s newest attraction, the new Puerto Vallarta letters on the iconic Malecón, combines all of these elements into a fabulous work of public art.

The new letters represent an homage to Puerto Vallarta’s artistic roots and a celebration of her unique identity, created by local painter Marcella Lepe and her talented nephew, artist Luis Lepe.

Tribute to a legacy

The surname Lepe has a special relevance in the Puerto Vallarta art scene. Both Marcella Lepe and her nephew Luis have influenced the cultural landscape of the city.

Both were commissioned to restore the Puerto Vallarta mural that adorns the interior of the Municipal Presidency building and its colorful naive art also adorns the pillars of the Cuale River bridge, which connects the Center with the Romantic Zone of Puerto Vallarta.

Her work is also deeply linked to a legacy that dates back to Marcella’s father, the late Don Manuel Lepe Macedo (1936-1984), a renowned Vallarta artist whose work has left an indelible mark on the city.

Don Manuel Lepe Macedo was recognized for his charming “naive” (or naïve) style, which is characterized by its apparent simplicity, the liveliness of its colors and its particular “childish” point of view. His art managed to capture the charm and beauty of Puerto Vallarta of yesteryear, in his own style that captivated both locals and visitors alike.

Lepe’s work is characterized by capturing the picturesque landscapes of the town and its surroundings, its bustling streets and its joyful festivals; all through a lens of innocence and permanent wonder. His naive art became synonymous with Puerto Vallarta, earning him recognition not only in Mexico, but throughout the world.
The new letters of Puerto Vallarta

When the opportunity arose to create new Puerto Vallarta lyrics for the Malecón, it was logical that Marcella and Luis Lepe would take on the project. The symbol they created is a vibrant testament to the city’s artistic heritage through icons of Puerto Vallarta, such as the Church of Our Lady of Guadalupe, the Sierra Madre mountains and the sun-drenched golden beaches.

Each letter is a canvas that tells a story. Bright, bold colors pay homage to Don Manuel Lepe’s iconic style, while intricate details and traditional design elements reflect the charm and beauty of Puerto Vallarta of yesteryear.

The new Puerto Vallarta lyrics are a visual journey through the city’s idyllic and colorful past, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in its rich artistic heritage.

The artists behind the work

Marcella Lepe, with her deep connection to the artistic history of Puerto Vallarta, brought her unique vision and talent to the project. As the daughter and custodian of the estate of Don Manuel Lepe, her artistic work has always been inspired by the vibrant culture and natural beauty of the region; and this new job is no exception.

Her nephew, graphic designer Luis Lepe, an accomplished artist with his own career path, has followed in his famous grandfather’s footsteps, embracing the naïve style and, at the same time, expanding the boundaries of his art. Together they have created a body of work that is not only visually stunning, but also deeply meaningful.

A new attraction for visitors and locals

The new letters of Puerto Vallarta represent more than just a work of public art: they are, without a doubt, a symbol of the city’s identity. Located on the Malecón, next to the iconic sculpture The Boy on the Seahorse, the sign is perfectly positioned to become a new point of reference for both locals and visitors.

The artistic legacy continues

The inauguration of the new letters of Puerto Vallarta is not only an artistic celebration, but also a reminder of the importance of preserving and honoring local cultural heritage.

Don Manuel Lepe’s legacy lives on through the work of his family, and this new sign is a testament to the enduring power of art to connect us with our past while inspiring us to look to the future.

So, next time you find yourself strolling along the Malecón, take a moment to admire this beautiful addition to the cityscape. The new letters of Puerto Vallarta represent a little piece of the heart of the city; an icon lovingly created by artists who understand the true essence of this magical destination.

Conocer y hacer nuevos amigos

¿Cómo llegar a Sayulita?

The Culture and Traditions of Mexico

0

The Culture and Traditions of Mexico you will find in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit.

Time flies when you’re having fun and when you’re on a trip to Mexico, it seems to be over before you know it. There is so much to take in when you vacation in any of the country’s 32 states, that it can be easy to overlook some of the Mexico culture facts you could learn along the way. While the sights are stunning and the food is delicious, if you truly want to embrace the vibrant Mexican culture, brush up on some interesting facts about Mexican culture before heading south of the border. With improved knowledge and a genuine interest in exploring your destination, you’ll be on your way to the best vacation of your life.

What is Mexican Culture?

Mexican culture is a beautiful blend of the country’s indigenous roots and its history of European conquest and colonization. Modern Mexican traditions are often based on the distinct history that lies in the hearts of the people.

From homages during the Day of the Dead in November to festivities marking the country’s independence in September, Mexico culture and traditions are celebrated in grandiose ways throughout the year.

If you happen to be vacationing in Mexico around one of the country’s holidays, you’ll witness vibrant costumes and decorations, folkloric dancing, delicious Mexican food culture, and the patriotic happiness that runs deep throughout the country. These rich Mexican traditions have encouraged people from around the world to visit the land once inhabited by the Aztecs and Mayans, and to embrace the changes brought about by Spanish colonization.

Mexico Culture and Traditions

Mexico is home to one of the new seven wonders of the world. Along with the Great Wall of China, the Roman Colosseum, the Taj Mahal, and others, Chichen Itza has left visitors mesmerized since it was erected in 600 A.D.. Since then, over 2.6 million people visit the ancient Mayan archeological site per year to stand in awe of its rich history and obvious magnificence. True of many of the country’s historical sites, the ancient ruins provide a powerful look into the Mexican cultural traditions that have marked the nation since its beginning.

If you find yourself asking, “what is Mexican culture?,” you may need to ask it in a variety of languages, 68 to be exact, which is the number of official languages recognized by the federal government. Of these 68 languages, there are over 300 different dialects spoken throughout the nation. While Spanish is the most widely spoken language in Mexico, especially in major tourist destinations, if you surround yourself by the Mexican cultural traditions of the indigenous population, which still makes up almost 15% of the total population, then you’re bound to hear some of these other languages in use.

One of the most interesting facts about Mexican culture is that the country is home to 34 of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization’s (UNESCO) world heritage sites, 26 of which are owed entirely to the distinct Mexican culture, 6 to its natural beauty, and 2 to a mixture of the two. From the Agave Landscape and Ancient Industrial Facilities of Tequila to the Pre-Hispanic City and National Park of Palenque, the country is bursting with Mexican cultural traditions that are beloved world round.

Mexico food culture is not only mouthwatering, but it is also officially recognized as a piece of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. In 2010, the organization added the popular cuisine to a list that the UN is committed to protecting due to its ties to the ancient world, its colorful identity, and the ancient technological processes that are still being used today. Mexico food culture is as diverse as the country’s 32 states, with each region offering a wealth of succulent dishes and exotic flavor profiles that are loved around the world.

The country is one of the most bio-diverse on the planet, placing it alongside only 11 other countries who house 70% of the world’s species of flora and fauna. This special category of “mega-diverse” countries makes Mexico both stunning and unique. When you’re out and about on your next vacation, take a few moments to appreciate the diversity of the vegetation around you and the rich Mexico culture and traditions that go along with it.

If you find yourself asking “What is Mexican culture?,” simply look to the distinct history of the nation for answers. The unique blend of indigenous traditions with the country’s history of conquest and colonization has left behind a beautifully vibrant culture for all to enjoy. On your next vacation to Mexico, take time out of your day to learn a few interesting facts about Mexican culture, you’ll be grateful you did.

Escape Puerto Vallarta’s Heat at San Sebastian

0

Designated a “Magic Town” by the Mexican government, San Sebastian is a lovely little village of less than 6,000 inhabitants, just an hour and 45 minutes away from Puerto Vallarta.

Puerto Vallarta, Mexico – With summer temperatures in Puerto Vallarta rising, a weekend getaway to a cooler climate can be very appealing. And, for those that own a home here, great weekend escapes are just a quick journey away. One favorite is the charming town of San Sebastian del Oeste, and a scenic 1 hour and 45-minute drive will take you there.

And what a difference a less than two hour trip can make! Leaving our beautiful tropical coastline of palm trees and beaches behind, you’ll travel up into the Sierra Madre mountains, to a totally different topography of pine trees and ranch land – and a distinctively cooler and less humid climate.

Designated a “Magic Town” by the Mexican government, San Sebastian is a lovely little village of less than 6000 inhabitants. Stroll the streets and admire the pretty colonial-style architecture, including the Church of Saint Sebastian which dates back to 1608, and stop for lunch in one of the town’s many excellent restaurants, El Fortin de San Sebastian and Montebello Restaurant being two of particular note.

It is a wonderful, peaceful getaway that offers an entirely different vibe, so much so that many Puerto Vallarta homeowners purchase a weekend escape in this charming mountain village.
