New highway boosts tourism in Puerto Vallarta

After the official start of the summer holidays, there is an increase in the number of visitors arriving to the city by land.

In addition to the growing popularity of the Jalisco port, the new Guadalajara – Puerto Vallarta highway has triggered a greater flow of tourism from the state capital and surrounding regions to its main beach destination.

The new highway allows you to travel between both cities in just approximately 3 hours, attracting more tourism not only from Guadalajara, but also from the Bajío region, Michoacán, Zacatecas, San Luis Potosí and the center of the country, points from where there are You have to travel that route to get to Puerto Vallarta.

This connection has also promoted circuit tourism in the State of Jalisco, since the considerable reduction in travel times allows visiting different points of the entity in a single trip.

The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board, said: “With this improvement in our land connectivity, the option to admire the colonial architecture of Guadalajara, learn about the manufacturing processes of the tequila in a distillery in Tequila, Jalisco and culminate the journey on our beautiful coasts, all in the same trip.”

In addition to the new highway, the State of Jalisco has two free highways that connect Guadalajara and Puerto Vallarta, one federal and the other state; the latter through the Sierra Madre Occidental, offering spectacular panoramic views along the way. With this excellent road connectivity now improved, an increase in visitors is expected during this summer season and beyond.
