Winner of the Mexico Open 2025 MODERATOR: Good evening, everyone. Let’s get started. We want to welcome Brian Campbell, our 2025 Mexico Open at VidantaWorld champion. Brian, congratulations on getting your first PGA TOUR win. I just want to start with some thoughts on what it was like to be a PGA TOUR winner.

BRIAN CAMPBELL: It’s very special. If I’m honest, I feel very numb right now. I’m very grateful for this week. Honestly, people don’t notice everything that the guys who put on tournaments like this do, but preparing the courses, preparing us, is a very special thing that they do week in and week out. I’m very grateful for everything and very happy right now.
MODERATOR: You won in exciting or maybe stressful fashion in a playoff. Let’s talk about the most recent approach on 18 and the tree.
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, it wasn’t intentional. I don’t recommend going right on that tee. I was very lucky to get the bounce, still be in play, and then get back into position. My caddie gave me a perfect number and I trusted him. He gave us a chance against Aldrich, so it was good.
Q. It seems like it was a long time coming on this win.
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah. It’s hard to look at it that way, it’s been a long time, but I’ve battled some injuries over the last couple of years. It hasn’t been easy, I’m not going to lie, but I just don’t even know what to say. It’s been so long, it’s been eight or nine years since I came back. I guess I was more focused on getting my health back and trying to enjoy golf again, have fun with it. It’s crazy what can happen when you focus on the right things.
Q. How does it feel for you to win here in Mexico with the crowd screaming your name and supporting you?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Unbelievable. The fans here are unlike anywhere else. Actually, for me, it started in Mexico nine years ago. I played in a Web.com event in Leon and had conditional status. I was playing the first round and there was a guy who was 9 under. I was just chasing him. I finished the round only to find out that it was a mistake and I was leading the tournament so I was chasing someone who wasn’t there. That catapulted my career a lot, it gave me the opportunity to play other tournaments from that. Mexico has a special place in my heart.
I love seeing how many kids there are, seeing them all excited. I look forward to seeing them here again when I play the Mexico Open the next two years.
Q. How was the food and hospitality here and in Mexico? Can you tell us a little bit about your week?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Amazing. They’ve put us up at the resort, I stayed at Celebrate Park. All the hotels are amazing. The staff, everyone who works at VidantaWorld, I can’t thank them enough, everything has been perfect. We have a five-minute cable car ride above the river to the practice range and the players’ dining room, it couldn’t be more perfect. Just the views, we’re right on the beach, we’ve got the mountains right there. This golf course is beautiful. It’s really been a special week off the golf course as well. They’ve done an amazing job.
MODERATOR: We’ve seen your old roommate Jake Knapp lift this trophy. You’ve said that’s why you work out, too. How much does that trophy weigh and where do you plan to display it?
BRIAN CAMPBELL: Yeah, it’s heavy. Jake made it look really light, but it has some weight to it. It’s really cool. I was Jake’s roommate a couple of years ago. It was very inspiring to see him win here, that was kind of a breakout win. I’ve admired him so much since we were kids, he’s a very talented player. Really nice guy, too, and I think that’s what matters.
