The Raicilla has a denomination of origin since June 28, 2019, granted by the Mexican government to be produced in the areas of the Sierra Madre Occidental. The largest producers of the drink are the municipalities of Mascota and Cabo Corrientes . The industry of the Raicilla registers an important growth in the last years. Its exports have increased 300%. Since 2011 it has gained a greater boom in its commercialization.
