Ultimate LGBTQ+ Wedding Experience Puerto Vallarta. The destination participated in the “The Ultimate LGBTQ+ Wedding Experience” certification, specializing in LGBTQ+ weddings and serving travelers in this segment.
With the goal of strengthening its knowledge and tools for promoting romance and inclusive tourism, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust participated from September 7-9 in the fourteenth edition of the specialized certification “The Ultimate LGBTQ+ Wedding Experience,” organized by the digital platform Queer Weddings Mexico.
Held in Costa Mujeres, the event brought together 70 professionals from the tourism and wedding industry from various parts of Mexico and Cartagena, Colombia, including wedding planners, travel agents specializing in destination weddings, photographers, videographers, decorators, hotel representatives, and representatives from catering, music, and entertainment companies.
Ultimate LGBTQ+ Wedding Experience Over three days, participants addressed topics related to the history of the fight for diversity, customer service, proper use of pronouns, marriage equality in Mexico, marketing, editorial photography, and drag entertainment applied to LGBTQ+ weddings.
The training was provided by specialists and industry leaders, including Rigo Longoria and Juan Carlos Betancourt, founders of Queer Weddings Mexico; Cuko Enríquez, co-founder of the platform; Abdel Vidrio Reynoso, activist and the first person in Jalisco to obtain a birth certificate with a non-binary gender; as well as professionals from the wedding, photography, marketing, ceremony, and entertainment sectors.
Puerto Vallarta is internationally recognized as Mexico’s most diverse beach destination. In addition to practicing inclusion throughout the destination, it boasts a gay neighborhood and Pride Vallarta, its pride festival that grows with each edition.
Ultimate LGBTQ+ Wedding Experience
For the destination, participating in this event represents an opportunity to stay up-to-date on the trends and needs of the LGBTQ+ segment, as well as to incorporate new knowledge into promotional strategies aimed at romance tourism and same-sex weddings.
Professionalization in these areas allows the destination to strengthen its ability to communicate an increasingly specialized, diverse, and inclusive tourism offering, as well as identify best practices for providing experiences that meet the expectations of LGBTQ+ couples and travelers.
The event also facilitated networking with wedding planners and specialized suppliers, including those involved in the luxury and romance segments. These connections contribute to expanding and strengthening Puerto Vallarta’s commercial network, fostering future alliances and business opportunities.
