The Vallarta Azteca Festival (FESTVA) features folkloric dance groups from various Mexican states, as well as representatives from Central and South American countries and Europe, who offer free performances at various venues in Puerto Vallarta, such as Los Arcos del Malecón and the Teatro Vallarta.

The general program and participating groups will be announced soon.

Over the course of a week, FESTVA promotes folkloric dance at venues in other municipalities in the region and even in neighboring states. Its celebration during the first days of May also coincides with the start of the Puerto Vallarta anniversary celebrations.

Among the many reasons to visit this picturesque destination is the Vallarta Azteca Folk Dance Festival, a dazzling celebration of Mexican culture, tradition, and artistry through the medium of dance. Whether you’re a culture enthusiast or simply looking for a unique event to witness on your travels, this festival is bound to leave you enchanted.

One of the best ways to fully appreciate the festival is to interact with the local community. Strike up a conversation with performers or locals, learn about the significance of the dances, and even consider joining a workshop if one is offered. It’s a chance to not only watch but also participate in the cultural exchange.

In addition to music, the event offers cultural activities, workshops, exhibitions, and a craft fair where you can purchase typical regional products.
