The emblematic Río Cuale Municipal Market began the celebration of the first 45 years of construction. It has 156 stores that offer crafts and food.
With a popular street party, the celebration of the first 45 years of construction of one of the most emblematic municipal markets in Puerto Vallarta, the Río Cuale, began.
The tenants of this market joined in the celebration of this space that is visited by thousands of tourists a year. Currently it has 156 stores, 18 of food and 138 of crafts.
The municipal market began with the famous polleras that in 1939 gathered in front of the Plaza de Armas to sell a variety of Mexican snacks. They were later located in the so-called Casco Viejo, also known as La Rueda or El Volantín, in the space currently occupied by the market where the building would later be built with material. It would be inaugurated on November 27, 1979 by the then municipal president Eugenio Torres and the governor Flavio Romero de Velazco.
