Vallarta Pride excellent results Puerto Vallarta 2024
After eleven years of being held, Vallarta Pride has positioned itself as the number one pride event among beach destinations in Mexico and Latin America. This was demonstrated in the eleventh edition of the event that took place from May 22 to 26 of this year.
Under the motto “Sun & the Beach,” Vallarta Pride 2024 was a 6-day celebration with 14 events, from fashion and food festivals, art exhibitions and parties, to an inclusive race and, of course , the spectacular parade through the main streets of the city, for a grand total of 17,417 attendees who enjoyed 40 hours of entertainment.
At the end of the parade, a huge party was held on the beach, something that not many destinations with large Pride events can boast. A fair also took place in the Lázaro Cárdenas park in the Romantic Zone, where 43 exhibiting brands from various fields gathered, including restaurants, bars, art galleries, real estate companies, associations and various businesses oriented to the segment.
In addition, for the first time an art auction was held with which funds were raised to continue beautifying public spaces in the city in collaboration with the exclusive Thompson chain, which will soon be inaugurating a hotel complex and luxury residences in the hotel zone of Puerto Vallarta.
This year the organizers managed to establish important strategic alliances with internationally renowned brands such as Scruff and Toro; Likewise, sponsorships were obtained with the agency RPA, which was in charge of disseminating Vallarta Pride 2024 in important national media and with the company MAS Comunicación, which advertised the event on spectacular screens and digital clocks located at strategic points in Mexico City. .
Press conferences were also held in conjunction with the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust, 23 interviews in local media and more than 30 articles were recorded in national media – including the main economic media – achieving an unprecedented national and international media reach. . More than 12.6 million impacts were achieved on television, press and the internet.
This year, the relevance of pink tourism was highlighted, of which Puerto Vallarta has been a mecca for years, as was evident on the Mister B&B platform, in which it appears as the only beach destination among the main preferences to celebrate it.
At a press conference held to announce these results, Javier Jiménez, president of Vallarta Pride, extended his gratitude to all those who support this event – a prelude to all Pride events in the world as it is held at the end of the month of May -, whose great success generated an economic impact of 17 billion pesos and the invitation to the destination to participate in the Pride celebrations in New York this year.
Puerto Vallarta, a destination world famous for being the only one in Mexico that has a Gayborhood with more than 70 businesses proactively promoting themselves to attract the segment, including restaurants, hotels, shops and entertainment.”
Vallarta Pride has established itself as the largest event in the destination, with pink tourism being the one that contributes the most to the economic impact with around 33% of the tourist GDP. The organizing committee of the event is already working on preparing Vallarta Pride 2025, which will tentatively take place from May 17 to 25.
