Puerto Vallarta First GLTA Tennis Tournament

The Gay Lesbian Tennis Alliance (GLTA) is a global tennis association with more than 20,000 members.

Under the name of Coconutz Puerto Vallarta 2024, the first edition of this tournament will be held as part of the GLTA World Tour, a world tour of tennis tournaments that travels through Europe, Asia, Australia, the United States, Canada, Mexico and South America.

The competition is divided into singles, doubles and categories, with Open being the highest level, followed by A which represents a high level, B intermediate and C low.

The event in Puerto Vallarta will take place from March 14 to 17 on the fields of Parota Park and admission will be free. Game times from Thursday to Saturday will be from 8:00 am to 10:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am for the grand final. The prizes for first and second place in each category are art trophies made by one of the most representative indigenous communities in the region.

Although the acronym GLTA only refers to the gay and lesbian community, this association promotes inclusion, so the call is open to the entire LGBTQ+ community, as well as heterosexuals who wish to participate. Although it is not a professional tennis association, many members have a high level of performance, so a very good level of play is expected. The event takes place in a 100% family and sports environment, with food and drinks for sale for attendees.
