The destination prepared a familiarization program for U.S. travel advisors focused on the four- and five-star segments.
On April 9, Puerto Vallarta welcomed more than 60 agents from WESTA, a large consortium that brings together multiple travel agencies focused on the West Coast of the United States.
After their arrival on the Princess Cruises Discovery cruise ship, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board welcomed them at the API maritime terminal and then transferred them to the Buenaventura Grand and Villa Premiere hotels, where they conducted inspection visits to learn about the different accommodation concepts and options, shopping centers, and amenities offered.
Later, they toured Puerto Vallarta’s historic center with its traditional architecture, the iconic boardwalk dotted with stunning sculptures, the city’s main square just steps from the sea, and the Parish of Our Lady of Guadalupe with its emblematic crown at the top.
Although brief, the visit delighted the WESTA members. When it was time to return to the ship, the agents expressed their desire to continue exploring the destination in the near future.
By providing facilities for these activities, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board ensured that travel advisors from more than 30 U.S. agencies experienced hotels and tourist attractions firsthand, leaving with a pleasant impression and valuable information for their clients after their visit.
