From April 11 to 13, the destination participated in Ottawa’s most important tourism fair and offered training seminars to travel advisors.
As part of its international promotional efforts for the Canadian market, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust joined forces with the Embassy of Mexico in Canada to promote the destination’s benefits during three days of activities in the Canadian capital.
Ottawa is the seat of Canada’s federal government, embassies, three universities, and the center of Canada’s high-tech industry. With a population of more than 1.2 million, it has the second-highest per capita income of all major Canadian cities.
On April 11, Puerto Vallarta participated in the seminar “Experience Mexico: A Land of Culture, Beauty, and Adventure,” held at the Mexican Embassy in Canada. A destination seminar was held to inform approximately 45 travel advisors and influencers.
This training seminar shared information about the destination’s natural charms and tourist attractions, its hotel zones, ongoing events calendar, and its exquisite culinary variety with 40 cuisines from around the world and nearly 2,000 restaurants in the metropolitan area.
Additionally, direct air connectivity with Ottawa during the winter season with Sunwing Airlines and year-round from Montreal with Air Canada and Air Transat was promoted, an excellent alternative for residents of that region.
Subsequently, on April 12 and 13, the trade show hosted the Ottawa Travel & Vacation Show, held at the Rogers Centre Ottawa (Shaw Centre). During the two-day trade show, the show welcomed more than 15,400 potential travelers to experience the magic of Puerto Vallarta.
Focused exclusively on destinations and travel, the Travel and Vacation Show brings together more than 200 exhibitors from around the world—representatives of travel companies, tourism boards, resorts, cruise lines, and vacation destinations—with end consumers seeking travel and vacation information, as well as travel agents looking to stay up-to-date.
Additionally, a destination presentation was held during the trade show, where travelers received detailed information about Puerto Vallarta and its extraordinary tourism offerings, which include unique attractions such as the Los Arcos de Mismaloya National Marine Park and the Jorullo Bridge, the longest suspension vehicular bridge in the world.
On this occasion, the destination was accompanied by the Buenaventura Grand, Hacienda Buenaventura, Villa Premiere, Delfín, Grand Miramar, Puerto de Luna, Crown Paradise, Plaza Pelícanos, Sunset Plaza, Velas Vallarta, and Casa Velas hotels.
With these initiatives, the Puerto Vallarta Tourism Trust is encouraging travel to the destination during the upcoming summer season, when a significant increase in the number of Canadian visitors is expected following the recent political unrest between North American nations.
