Puerto Vallarta Fishing , Mexico, is famous for its incredible fishing. Mahi-mahi, sailfish, marlin, and red snapper are just a few of the many species anglers can pursue. We love spending time on the bay, testing our luck, but every outing on the water offers so much more than just fishing.

The area is teeming with wildlife, dotted with islands, and lined with stunning coastline. On this trip, we were lucky enough to spot whales, dolphins, and turtles, and we witnessed a breathtaking sunrise over the Sierra Madre Mountains as we left the marina. While Puerto Vallarta is renowned for its sunsets, we can say from experience that the sunrises—especially when viewed from the water—are equally unforgettable.
Today’s fishing was especially interesting. Schools of skipjacks were feeding throughout the bay, so we stopped, cast our lines, and landed three of them to use as bait later in the day. Not long after, we watched another boat reel in a massive marlin before hooking into a sailfish ourselves. We battled that fighter for about five minutes before he managed to break free. Later, we caught a few needlefish, which put up a fun fight.
All in all, it was another fantastic day out on the water.
