Puerto Vallarta Among the 5 Safest Cities. The National Urban Public Security Survey revealed the five Mexican cities with the highest perception of safety.
Yesterday, July 24, 2025, Mexico’s National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI) released the results of the National Urban Public Security Survey (ENSU, for its acronym in Spanish), which measures the perception of safety in 91 urban areas in Mexico with the aim of providing information for public policy decisions on security.
Among the data provided by the ENSU for the second quarter of this year are the cities where people feel safest. According to the survey conducted in June, Puerto Vallarta is the fifth city nationwide where people perceive the least insecurity and the only beach destination on this list, projecting itself as the top choice for enjoying this summer vacation.
