Mismaloya Beach New Malecon & Pier. Jalisco Government Presents Mismaloya Pier Renovation Project with Vision to Boost Tourism and Maritime Connectivity
It includes a 350-meter-long pedestrian walkway, which renews the image of the municipality’s tourist area.

The entrance arch was also renovated, and street furniture, trees, vegetation, and public lighting were installed.
To strengthen the region’s tourism infrastructure, fishing activity, and maritime connectivity, Pablo Lemus Navarro, Governor of Jalisco, inaugurated the completed rehabilitation of the Mismaloya Pier in Puerto Vallarta.
Accompanied by Luis Ernesto Munguía González, Mayor of Puerto Vallarta, David Zamora Bueno, Secretary of Infrastructure and Public Works (SIOP), and Sergio Miguel Martín Castellanos, State Representative, the governor stated that this pier expands Jalisco’s nautical routes.

“We are now delivering this completed pier, continuing the nautical route we promised; that is, to be able to travel from Playa de los Muertos, arrive here in Mismaloya, go to Boca de Tomatlán, to Las Ánimas, so that people can travel by sea,” stated Pablo Lemus.
The project represented an investment of 82.2 million pesos and included the renovation of the pier with a capacity to accommodate three vessels simultaneously as well as the construction of a 350-meter-long linear park with a direct view of the sea, which can be enjoyed by the residents of Puerto Vallarta, as well as national and international tourists.

The mayor of Puerto Vallarta, Luis Ernesto Munguía, thanked the Governor of the State for promoting the pier’s rehabilitation, adding that the City Council will incorporate artistic details to enrich the urban landscape of the site.
The Mayor recalled that Mismaloya beach and its surrounding community served as filming locations for scenes in two movies that showcased the port’s richness to the world.

“Two films were shot here, which are also part of Mismaloya’s fame: ‘The Scarlet Buccaneer’ and ‘The Night of the Iguana,’” commented Munguía González.
Another benefit of this project is its aim to make it a must-see for visitors to this world-class tourist destination.
The Mismaloya pier underwent renovations to reinforce its infrastructure and incorporate stone signage that delineates the pier’s path.
To ensure greater safety and functionality, in addition to constructing an entrance arch, a new 968-square-meter walkway, and a new viewpoint, eco-friendly lighting, street furniture, trees, and vegetation were added.

The project is the result of the Jalisco government’s commitment to sustainable development and the promotion of responsible tourism in Puerto Vallarta.
David Zamora Bueno, head of the SIOP (Secretariat of Infrastructure and Public Works), indicated that the pier has a functional structure for tourism, fishing, and social activities.
He added that the site features lighting that enhances the beauty of the area where the pier is located.
It is worth noting that the pier’s rehabilitation will improve the experience for visitors traveling to Los Arcos and nearby beaches, as well as improve conditions for those who visit this tourist destination.
The Jalisco government reaffirms its commitment to continue investing in infrastructure that strengthens the regional economy and maritime connectivity, while preserving the natural and cultural heritage of the Jalisco coast.
