From October 11 to 14, the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Training Squadron will be in the destination.
As part of a goodwill mission to strengthen the historic ties of cooperation between Mexico and Japan, the ships Kashima and Shimakaze have arrived in Puerto Vallarta, which will be open to the public on October 12 and 13. Aboard these ships are approximately 570 crew members, including 200 recently graduated officers from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force.
At the same time, in order to promote Japanese culture, on Saturday morning, October 12, in the auditorium of CECATI 63, films from the Asian country were screened and a display of traditional Japanese dance and Koto music, a typical Japanese instrument, were presented. In the afternoon, at the Malecón Arches, the Mexican Navy Band, accompanied by two Japanese musicians, will offer a free concert.
