This proud sculptor from Jalisco, was born in a small city called Tepatitlan, which in the place that gave birth to this enthusiastic character and free spirit. Since he was a little boy, he has been a dreamer and a lover of nature. From a young age he started to feel the roughness of life because he lost his father, a situation that obliged to stop studying and start working to support his family. . He worked in many different jobs, thanks the experiences he learned so many things that have been useful tools to face the most incredible obstacles, His hands have the gift to sculpt beautiful pieces that are a reflection of his great imagination and a talent has expressing his idea and emotions. He started has a retratista, while making sculpture for popular Mexican singer Vicente Fernandez and his family.
His artistic influences came from his trip all over the world such as Russia, Austria, Hungary,Check Republic,Belgium, and the United States. His interesting sea life benefactor a visit to San Francisco, California. His love for sculpting helped to bring opportunities for participating in Berkley California. It is there that he learned many different foundry techniques like ceramic shell. Recently he participated in another exchange with the City of Highland Park, Illinois, increasing his international exposure. The beautiful city of Puerto Vallarta conquered him and destiny permitted him to stay there. He his still living in Puerto Vallarta and there are showing many of the great pieces.

Like the Dolphins Fountain with the one he started to reflect his admiration for marine mammals through art. This work was a collaboration for the international exchange with the sister city of Santa Barbara, California.
His most representative sculpture showing in the “Ballenna Vallarta , a bronze sculpture as an amazing natural size humpback whale, which is 40 feet high and is located at the entrance of Marina Vallarta.
Almost a quarter of a century ago, González discovered his vocation in the art of “stone carving.” The man from Jalisco has a natural talent and his work is a reflection of his love and affection for marine life.
The artist found his home in Puerto Vallarta, a city that houses the famous sculpture “Ballena Vallarta”, a monumental mammal that reaches twelve meters high. Octavio commented that he dedicated this piece to his daughter.
This piece took over 4 years to complete and must be the largest sculpture in town, weighing over 13 tons, its 29.2 feet high (8.9m) by 42.6 feet long (13m) and it’s all masterly balanced on just one flipper and less than one square meter. This visually stunning sculpture was inaugurated on March 14th, 2001, and greets visitors arriving at the Marina Vallarta area or driving into town.
This magnificent sculpture has a great meaning because it is the result if many efforts participation of international business men, hotels, and restaurants owners, public administration but mainly by Octavio, who worked really hard to finish this project. Now he is seeing his dream come true by achieving his goal of having an artistic foundry, the first of its kind in Puerto Vallarta, which he and his creative team of collaborators creators spend days dedicated to the creation of high quality pieces of art, putting their hearts in the possibility of making Puerto Vallarta an important source of great artists that can come like Octavio, worthy of ambassadors of Mexico art in the world.
